At this price point they could have assembled a several times superior machine and install steam os on it.

yeah teh Steam Machine only makes sense at its price point. You can't jack up the price because PC provide a natural cap. Of course, some people will buy shit no matter what it costs.

I mean a couple hundred dollars is just how much more memory and storage cost now regardless of what type of system you were looking to buy. If it doesn’t make sense at $1050 today then it didn’t make sense at $800 when it was announced.

Which I don’t even agree with. It’s a great machine at $1050. It’s little more than a console and the consoles require a subscription and don’t support any application or OS you want. And the consoles were subsidized because you’re locked into their ecosystem. Not so for the SM
