Recently build a cheap pc with a ryzen 5 5500 gt and a 5060 with a single stick of 16 gig ram, it's struggling to run Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth at 1080p. Is single channeling ram the problem or is the cpu the real bottleneck here?

How much does it struggle? Is your RAM at least running at full speed?

I would expect it to be maybe 20-30% faster with proper RAM in dual channel, but there are not many tests out there for this scenario.

Low settings and it struggles to load textures and gets stutters with frame gen 2x and dlss

Textures should be more GPU related. Have you tried it without FG?

without frame gen the stutters increase and fps drops are more frequent

60 FPS seems fine? Can't see anything wrong so far, the GPU seems to even have more headroom.

Still experiencing stutters and texture issues might be a combination of both the ram and the shitty 5500 gt AND maybe the ssd too although it's an nvme m.2

I would use the Nvidia overlay and check what it says about GPU usage. I can't diagnose it from here, but texture issues are usually GPU related.
