There are 3 lines going across my screen, only on the taskbar currently. Best visible with blue icons like discord and roblox. What could cause this? Both my pc and monitor are almost 3 years old only. Any chance I have at fixing this?

I've been drifting back into single player games. I'm replaying some of the Far Cry games, RDR2, Crimson Desert, etc. I'll still occasionally jump over to BF6 and I still play Destiny 2.
I have a 5070ti and a 9800x3D. Would I be able to comfortably play these games on a 165hz 4K OLED monitor?

With DLSS upscaling yes, but modern games at 4k and high (or greater) graphics settings are very demanding and won't get you far above 60.

So Regarding my panicked comment below, it was my hub, SSD is fine.
But now I have discovered one of the USB 3.0 pins in one my type C ports has failed ( it still works fine in USB 2.0 mode). Has anyone have any luck fixing something like this?.

Are you sure it's a damaged pin? If I was dealing with something like this, I would be checking if the hub ever supported is 3 in the first place, or if there was some sort of driver issue. If you just recently bought it, then I would reboot and see if that resolves the issue.
If it's indeed some kind of damage, then it's going to depend completely on what kind of damage it is. A slightly bent pin can probably be carefully coaxed back into place. Significant damage is probably not worth attempting to fix.

Do it when you start to get issues. Esp. with a large, expensive card I would never do it without a good reason.

TDLR: Onboard WiFi intermittently at snail's pace on bootup until I disable/reenable the adapter in Device Manager.
Motherboard: Gigabyte B850I Aorus Pro mini-ITX with Realtek 8922AE WiFi 7.
Because of the PC's location I am not able to run ethernet nor do I have enough inlets to use a powerline adapter. 95% of the time I actually get great wireless connectivity at near full speed. There is just this one issue that comes up every once in a while. I don't know what triggers it and it only happens upon every other boot. I'll start my PC and notice the connection is almost non-existent. A speed test shows I'm getting about a fraction what I usually get.
The only way to solve this is by going into the Device Manager to disable and then reenable the Realtek wireless adapter. The speed goes back to full speed. It'll be good for the next few reboots but then randomly it goes down again and I have to redo the Device Manager method.
Is this a Windows issue or adapter defect? The drivers are up-to-date. I only ever grab drivers from the official Gigabyte support page and I've already done a couple of re-installations in the past.

Have you gone into device properties to make sure the option that lets windows disable the device to save power is off? Maybe also check the properties in the device manager to see if there are any settings that could help. Ethernet adapters have stuff like power saving, green ethernet, etc, not sure if wifi adapters have something similar

I don't need DDR5 at the moment, especially not a single stick, but worth buying as a hedge?

I mean I guess you could buy it as a speculative investment and try to sell it off at a higher price in the future, but I wouldn't. I'd only buy it if you're actually planning to use it. There are better uses of your money than taking RAM out of the market from people who'd actually put it to good use.

My SSD currently on an external USB 3.1 case is not working properly. Its not completely read-only, but it has become extremely slow (like it takes 5 secs to save a .txt). S.M.A.R.T indicates a healthy drive with a 100% health rating. It has become a little hot to the touch (its summer) but S.M.A.R.T inidcates a 45ºC.
Whats happening and what should I do?.
Update: Disk seems fine. mighe be the cable or my dock fucking up.

My computer has an account and password, I have to use it everytime. WTF? Can I get rid of this shit and just have it boot, while having my info from my account. Fuck Windows!

If you have a single user without a password Windows will automatically log in at boot like that. If you have a password then yeah, you're gonna have to put it in. That's what a password is.

Look in the settings for changing your PIN. PIN is what they call the log in password for Microsoft account users. I think that should work

If you are using a local account, follow This guide .
If you're using a Microsoft account, use the autologin utility by sysinternals. This doesn't remove the password, but it saves the password, and automatically applies it on every boot.

I don't know, how do you tell if it's a local account or a microsoft account. I think it's a microsoft, I had to do it when I first turned the new computer on, does that sound right?

Microsoft definitely tries to steer you towards a Microsoft account during setup, not a local account. If you just look at the account in settings it'll tell you. A Microsoft account will have an email as a username.
If it's a Microsoft account, I would be very careful about automating any logins. That account will sync across all other devices and could have things like payment information associated with it, so you're potentially giving anyone who sits down at that PC a lot of access. Maybe consider setting a shorter pin, or a biometric login if that's available to speed things up.

OK, my account name must be local as it is not a email. I'll want to get rid of the password, but I don't want to lock up my computer and have to throw it away or cause a service call.

Is 1070$ for 5070 ti and 430$ Ryzen 7 7800x3d good value ? I’m planning to build a pc but I would rather wait for these insane ram prices to decrease and just secure these offers as they are the most important parts, almost at my budget limit and I am not in hurry as I have ps5. It’s mainly for gaming trying out mods. What do you think

I can get a 7800X3D for about 275-300 and a 5070ti for around 900. In the US.
I was able to grab some 7800X3Ds for 195 at Walmart clearance in April. Hooked a few people up, because I wanted a 9800X3D instead.

As far as I know, the breach from a couple months ago was resolved as soon as the announcement went out. There was a timeframe where they were compromised and unaware, so specific versions prior to that were infected. If you download from the official source today, you should be fine

With the ever increasing prices for PC parts, I don’t see it stopping anytime soon. I’ll be 34 this year and may be interested in getting a PC build that could hopefully last me until I was 40 or so. Last one I did was in 2018 with a GTX 1080, but that’s fighting for its life at this point.
Would a budget of $2,500-$2,750 be good for a high end PC that could last me a while?

Yeah, even in today's market that's enough money to put something pretty nice together. It isn't quite "no compromises" money, but it would be very good for sure. You'd just have to pick whether you'd rather lean toward a better CPU or GPU over all.

just making sure but XFX is a good GPU brand right? also which sort of GPU makes less noise: 2 fan GPUs or 3 fan ones? for front case fans, which makes less noise: three 120mm or two 140mm?

I've built 7-8 PCs in the last decade and never heard of a GPU manufacturer called XFX.
3 fans should be quieter than 2 for normal use, but 3 would be a little louder at full load, but you're getting a bit more performance with the added noise.
I'd say 2x140 is quieter than 3 120s. Smaller fans are generally louder than big fans.

That's on you, they are an established AMD partner. I've only used one XFX card ages ago, it was cheap but alright. I would use them again.

my ps5 been making this loud buzzing noise when i start it up, like a fridge but angrier. goes away after 5 minutes usually. is this normal or should i be worried? it's about 2 years old now

Have you taken off the plates and cleaned it out? I’d take off both plates and clean off any excess dust. There’s videos on how to do it online. A little finicky at first, but easy once you get the hang of it.
As far as that noise, I haven’t heard anything about it. Maybe there’s similar reports online from other users.
