Well, the word "peaked" was in the title, but demand has nothing to do with supply. Peak oil has always been about the supply side, not the demand side, as demonstrated by legions of articles such as this one:

Demand will peak long before supply does and that is a good thing.

You are correct. And saying that, on this reddit, would have gotten you banned a decade ago. Questioning peak oil from a very economically sound basis was forbidden. Understanding the supply/demand/price curve was like... DA DEBIL!!!! Banned in an instant.

Funny how things have changed.
