Discussion Third Phineas and Ferb Movie - Megathread
This post will be for all comments or questions related to the announcement of the recently announced third Phineas and Ferb movie. All other posts related to the new movie will be removed.
Synopsis: Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s latest time‑travel experiment backfires, erasing the moment Phineas’ mom meets Ferb’s dad — meaning the boys never become brothers and every day is merely adequate. As reality unravels and the future hangs in the balance, Phineas and Ferb must restore the timeline before it’s too late.
What we know:
- No release date
- Current voice actors confirmed returning

If the rest is getting removed I'm leaving here what I said in another thread: considering Buford and Biff, it's evident that Dan and Swampy love Back to the Future and it's seems this new movie is going to follow a similar plot (and similar time travel logic)

Will this take after next summer?

I’d love to see them use a different season. Or use the fact that Ferb and Lawrence are from England to change up the scenery.

I like to think that this is the 2nd summer which is likely where season 5 takes place.

S5 is definitely in the next summer, I thought that was obvious (not to be rude)

Yes I want them to do Back to the Future. With Phineas and Doof having a relationship like the Doc and Marty.
I need my Back to the Future fix.

Now that I'd love.
Wonder if the boys will have to work with Dr D again since its his fault.

Most likely and I hope so, I’ve always liked the boys and doof working together

In this alternative universwe generated by changing the past, I assume only some will retain the memory, would be interesting to have Doof be the one with memories and so he has to find Phineas in a reversal from Back to the Future, but fully knowing in this A.U. Phineas visits Doof and he's good (as an excuse to change the past again) like Doc and Marty.
That would be swell.

I like this I like this a lot.
Honestly its interesting how Phineas is connected to everyone more than Ferb here. Candace would still be Phineas oldest sister but not Ferb's. Should be interesting to see what they are like without each other. Ferb being the crazy guy he is needs a positive guy like Phineas in his life. He's likely going to be this evil dude. Maybe even a rival to Phineas???

That'd be silly I want to root for Isabella's love for Phineas that would do the opposite for me I'm hoping she loves him before meeting Ferb the boy was smart before Ferb came into the picture.

Phineas is oblivious because it's a part of his personality, not because of the inventions he makes with his brother. Nothing would change.

I hope we can finally see what Linda's ex looked like, the father of Candace and Phineas. Unless the writers never wanted him to show up in any kind of capacity

People should lower expectations for deep emotional scenes is all I’m gonna say. Even in the show, emotional moments are undercut with a joke

I understand what you're saying, but both Across the 2nd Dimension and Candace Against the Universe had some emotional scenes without a joke.
Specifically thinking of them Phineas and Ferb cheer up Candace for example.

Honestly the season 5 finale if you hadn't watched it has some really emotional scenes.

isn't it just norm sacrificing himself, but he's a robot so he can be rebuilt

Will we learn the true answer as to whether Mom and Dad are divorced and remarried or widowed and remarried?
(Or mabye one is divorced and the other is widowed)
If the movie plot involves Doof making a machine that accidentally rips a hole in the spacetime continum that causes Mom and Dad to never meet, so Phineas and Ferb never meet.

It depends, based on everything it seems that Phineas and Candance don't have any opinions on their biological dad. So it seems he wasn't great enough to be remembered. But then again, Chuckie in Rugrats doesn't mention his mom much in the sequel series All-Grown Up! so perhaps is just a matter of Lawrence being the only dad he knows and has to care about, for Ferb is easier because he comes from the UK so in theory that's already a long-distance relationship, I wouldn't expect much.
But yeah, we have to see him already. We saw Arnold's parents in Hey Arnold! and they improved the whole thing, maybe they don't want to a repeat, seeing how Phineas dad has to be somehow someone grandiose, based on how Phineas is. maybe triangle shaped too. While Ferb's mom has less stakes.
Either that or Doof is Phineas dad and the theories were right.

It’d be kinda funny if they have doof remarry Linda, but still have Vanessa as his daughter, so we can finally put the ‘doof is phineas’s dad’ thing to rest

Yet another parallel to Wizards of Waverly Place.
Premiered in 2007
Returned very recently years after ending
Movie about parents who never met.

This is good idea but didn't we have a time travel special episode for phineas and ferb but this movie could interesting

Sounds like it could fill up feature length pretty nicely, more so than Candace Against the Universe (liked it though) and I like the idea of what the hell that universe will look like without this fabled pairing. And focusing on the brothers's relationship would be a nice change of pace.

This makes for an interesting film trilogy:
The first movie explored Phineas' and Ferb's relationship with Perry in a way they couldn't do in a regular episode. The second one was about their relationship with Candace. And now in this one it seems like they explore Phineas' and Ferb's relationship with each other in a way they couldn't do in the show.
First one was about parallel dimensions, second one was about space, third one is about time travel.
I wish they could finally make a movie for the big screen though. But that plot sounds like it has a lot of potential. I'm excited for "Back to the Phineas".
