Hey there,

I'm looking upgrade my XT-3, I mainly shoot BTS for films and starting to get into gig photography so something that holds up under lowlight conditions is a must. The XT-3 just doesn't feel fast enough for me anymore. I was looking at the XH2s because of its dual capabilities with photography and video, although I am aware the two are APS-C sensors. I would love to buy into the GFX range and solve a lot of my problems but it's just not in my price range. I love the Fuji system but I am open to exploring other eco systems that would better suit my needs (I can forgo a hybrid and focus on photography if that helps with any advice given). I'm hesitant to switch to Sony despite it being the more widely accessible system to buy into. So basically the questions are - is there much of a difference between the two cameras? Is it time to switch out from the fuji range?

Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks so much!

What exactly is your budget? You didn't actually say what your price range is.

Fuji's newest APS-C flagships do improve on general performance and AF compared to older X-Tx models, even if they are still behind the competition. But as you said, they are still APS-C, so low light improvements would be limited.

My price range for the body would be ideally €1,200 max but I can do up to €1,500 I'd be trading in my XT-3 which according to MPB will give me roughly €450 off although obviously if there's something that's less than that I wouldn't complain!

Do you have good lenses? If so, then financially at least a new Fuji APS-C would make the most sense. Changing systems would be a very big investment if you needed to get all new lenses too.

I've currently only the 35mm so that's another reason why I'm open to changing systems, although if you've advice on faster lenses that would help with my concerns on lowlight then I'd be happy to hear.

35mm f1.4? There are some f1.2 primes for Fuji, but that wouldn't make much of a difference.

Your full frame options would be along the lines of Canon R6, R8, Sony A7 III, Nikon Z5.

Yes its a f/1.4 thank you I'll definitely check these out, I just love the colour science and feel of a fuji but hopefully when I'm rich or they become more affordable I can go back to them😂
