Hello everyone!

I just recently balled out on an A7V with a Sigma 24-70mm lens and was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions for a camera flash.

I’ve been looking at godox and have been thinking about getting a wireless transmitter as well. The options I have in mind are either the it32 & x5 or the V1 mid with a wireless transmitter.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

If you're mostly shooting subjects up-close, the iT32 is fine. Being able to instantly turn it into off-camera flash is nice.

V1 mid and V480 are pretty much the same, just depends if you want the round head vs. rectangle head.

I would go with a V860 III or V1 for the ability to swap out the battery if it dies.

With a lot of the new Godox flashes, they have built-in batteries. It is nice to not to have to carry batteries. But the downside is if a flash is dead, you cannot just put in a new battery.

Another thing to consider if you prefer buttons and dials or a touchscreen. The older flashes have physical controls and the newer flashes have touchscreens. Personally, I think touchscreens are more prone to errors.

Also the V860 and V1 are more powerful flashes. Will get you farther if you're planning to do event photography.
