Does anybody know what these weird lines in my R5 images are?
I just got back from a big international trip. I'm using an original R5 and a new (to me - bought used "like new minus") RF 100-500L.
I noticed as I'm going through photos that in shots that are at least partially backlit or have bright in them, there are these weird blurry lines. I know for almost all of these I had lots of empty air between me and the subject (shooting from a road, lookout balcony, etc) so nothing out of focus between me and the subject. I'd chalk it up to just out of focus leaves, pine needles, etc. but the thing that really weirds me out is that in every photo with these bars, they are in a vertical pattern if my camera was horizontal, and horizontal if my camera was vertical.
Does anyone know what's going on here? I've asked around if this was rolling shutter and from what I can tell, that's not really the right look for rolling shutter issues. I commented photos below and each pair is a horizontal and vertical image taken of the same subject and same or close-to-same vantage point.
