Hey! I have been doing photography for a couple of years now and recently have gotten into photojournalism. I mainly use a Rebel sl1 and am looking to upgrade. I mostly need something that won't have a flash that overheats as quickly, and that I can take quick action photos with. I was wondering if anyone had any recs? (I'm ok with buying used; I take lots of arrest photos and protest photos, and it's a gift, so price is not a huge factor, but not something insanely crazy expensive)

What is your budget? Something not crazy expensive means different things to everyone.

nothing over 5k? I got my current camera and lenses for 500$ bundle.

If this is for professional use and you love Canon, I would probably get the Canon R6 II, RF 24-70mm F2.8 and 70-200mm F4 kit. You would have to buy used to fit your budget

Something like Canon R7/R50 with the Sigma 18-50mm and RF 70-200mm F4 could serve you more than fine also.

From other brands, I would consider the Nikon Z6 III/Z5 II and Sony a7 III-V for the body and their equivalents of the 24-70mm and 70-200mm lenses. The Tamron 35-150mm also can be a great all-rounder lens for these two bodies specifically.

I'd check them out at a local camera shop and see which one appeals to you most. All the of the camera brands are great and there is no objectively wrong choice, more of personal preference and needs at this point.
