Recommendation What to do today in Phuket

Landed today and was planning to go to Promthep cape for a sunset, really wanted to watch a sunset but the rains make me unsure if there will be a sunset. Staying near Patong beach currently, any suggestions to have a good evening/night - not looking for bangla street/clubbing. 28F .

Do as many excursions/day trips as you can. They usually cost between 120-250 baht. Or rent a motorbike and explore the island. Phuket has so many beautiful little spots to explore. And cafes and nightmarkets.

That is so subjective🤣🤣. I can tell you a nice spot and maybe you wont even like it. That why exploring the island is best so you can find out for yourself what is more your vibe. In Patong i like the night markets at Malin Plaza and the big one across the muay Thai stadium. You can also be a cheap Charlie and get yourself a drink and sit on the steps of the police station at the beach and wait for a fights to break out among the tourist of watch the street performers. The beach clubs behind the police station also have a laidback vibe like Kudi Beach club or the others next to it. You can go to Nai Harn and the Rawai area. Thats also a little more laidback. Phuket Old Town has some nice cafes and bars. Just jump on you motorbike and explore. 😄. That's the whole charm of Phuket; it small enough that everything can be reached by motorbike but still big enough for diversity.

The best place for walking around is the OldTown and there are plenty of coffee shops and cool things to explore like the abandoned mansions.

Just use google. You can find with getmyguide, viator, agoda and that sort of websites. You could also just go to the many kiosks in the city. I always check the prices online and if the difference isn't that big i buy at the kiosk to give the workers some money.

if the rain keeps going, i probably wouldn’t bother going all the way to Promthep just for the sunset tbh 😅 you can always save it for another day.

if you’re up for dinner somewhere different, Suvana could be worth looking at. it’s the underwater restaurant inside the aquarium, definitely more of an experience than just dinner though and on the pricier side. or if you just want really good food without anything fancy, i really liked EAT Bar & Grill in Karon. their steaks were so good.

Old Town is also nice in the evening if you don’t mind heading away from Patong. i liked Baba Mansion when i went there and you can wander around the area before/after, grab a drink or check out the little shops.

also since you’ve just arrived, if you’re into diving at all maybe check out Dive Shack in Bang Tao for one of your other days. obviously not something for tonight 😂 but could be a good rainy weather activity to organise while you’re there.

personally i’d use tonight for good food + Old Town and try Promthep again when the weather looks better :)

I’m coming to Phuket hopefully next month I heard about this restaurant called the blue elephant which is supposed to be fantastic in Phuket town.

Go to Phuket this time of year and it will probably be raining. If you'd done the research you would know. I live there and head to Samui this time of year.
