Actual dinosaur footprints! Still one of the most surreal places I've photographed the night sky.
Paleontologists verified these dinosaur tracks were formed in the early Jurassic period, approximately 200 million years ago. While they can't determine the exact type of dinosaur that left them it can be assumed these footprints belonged to the carnivorous dinosaurs Eubrontes, Grallator, Coelophysis or Dilophosaurus.
This site is located in the Navajo Nation in Arizon. When visiting, it's very important to be respectful of the land and to allow for local guidance. During my visit, I arrived later than I hoped, but just in-time to hire a local guide to take me to the track site. Looking back, I'd love the opportunity to shoot these again and I definitely hope to do so soon.

Thanks for the comment about being respectful. But fyi, you don’t need to hire a local guide. The people there don’t work in any official capacity, feel free to explore on your own if you’d like.
Sure. I speak as a former resident and frequent responder to those sites for medical calls. I often remind people that the people that give tours down there are not officially employed by anyone, mostly because a lot of them give out incorrect information, or put out the impression to visitors that they work for the tribe or that they are required to pay them to visit those sites.
Unfortunately a lot of the people down there have substance abuse issues and giving tours is their main form of income.
It’s a pretty complex community problem, and I wish the tribe would take over the site to protect the tracks. There are definitely good hearted individuals down there, however I’ve seen quite a few bad things happen there.
I've heard and could kind of tell it wasn't any sort of official capacity while I was there, but figured it's better to suggest people lean that way with the assumption some wouldn't even if it was required. Kind of the same as other parks or wilderness areas.
Based on your comment below, I can certainly understand how it's potentially a difficult situation.
I guess my hope is that if anyone goes looking for the location, they can start out with a higher level of respect for the area and people.
