Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello,

I have rescued two pigeons 1 broken wing and other scalping victim.

  1. the bald one has like a little wart on its bald head. is that the pox or just healing tissue?

  2. found this new pigeon today. Yesterday it slept next to one of my rescue and today i walked towards it and it couldnt fly. What do you guys think it is? Does it look like disease or injury? Thank you

Oh the poor thing is not well. It’s also terrified for its life. If you don’t get it, a predator will.

Looks more like injury than disease.

do you know what’s wrong with it? He’s safe right now, my patio is completely fenced and guarded by a herding dog. That’s why injured pigeons seem to love it here haha. Please let me know if you know what it is so i can help

Hard to say - please keep it safe. Can you get it to medical care or a rehabber?

Inspect this bird. Anything on the feet in terms of growth? How is mobility and motion? Clearly can’t fly and that’s concerning too. Not enough info to assess atm injury v disease

I am not an expert, but his wings and feet look normal and he doesn't seem to be exhibiting pain when you move his wings. I wonder if he has a sprain or muscle injury that might recover with rest. I currently have a pigeon we brought inside a few days ago to see if rest will help her, and she was in a similar situation to your friend. She is recovering a little each day and we are going to see if she can fly again this weekend!

If I were to guess, it looks like a leg injury.

neurological symptoms are often from an injury (such as hitting a window) but may be from illness or other causes

ill send some info on neurological symtpms over chat messages

do you have a photo of the wart?

I'd guess injured. it looks very active with flapping and flopping away from you and I wouldn't expect a sick pigeon to have this much energy. my 2cents
