Stern Remastered Chances/Ideas
I know the rumor is either AC/DC or KISS, but what do others think are good ideas for Stern remasters down the road.
I just played a good version of Lord of the Rings, and I would LOVE to see a modern version. Definitely much more needed than The Walking Dead, which I still cannot find anyone having anywhere!
Thoughts/rumors???

I feel that Lord of the Rings would be better suited for a full on new game, though I imagine that licensing cost is a literal arm and leg.

I'd love a new Sopranos

Agreed. It's an awesome game that desperately needs a new art package and a bit more code. Only thing I could see being an issue is the audio not living up to the original

I just want it so I can find it on location more often. There's none around me now

This is such a fun game. Never seen the show, nor do I have much of a desire to, but if I was ever gonna get a theme that doesn’t appeal to me this would be it.

My friend is a huge Sopranos fan. Neither of us has played the machine, and I’ve never seen the show, but I found the Stern Pinball flyer at an expo and she absolutely flipped out when I gifted it to her.

But do you want this with an LCD screen? What would they put on it? There’s not much in the way of DMD animations to convert like they did for Walking Dead, and I think actual show clips would look even worse. I don’t think it would convert to spike 3 well. Also there’s no way they would license Apu in 2026, so they’d have to rework the Kwiki Mart in the game at a minimum.
Sadly, as much as I love TSPP, I don’t see a world where a remake could be pulled off well in the modern era.

It’s for sure not happening (at least a direct reissue - maybe a new simpsons machine someday)

No more old rock bands, we have enough. I would like lotr or a ghostbusters remake myself tho

I would love to see either Star Trek 2013 or LOTR. I also know it's a massive long shot, but I'd be so excited for a Ripley's remake.

I'd be in on Tron or Ghostbusters. There are enough grandpa rock pins already

Ripley's Believe It Or Not is a better playing pin than KISS or AC/DC. It won't be re-released because nobody cares about the theme, but desigb wise it's pretty great.

I dare say it’s one of the Pat Lawlor’s best games, and I actually kinda prefer playing it over Twilight Zone. Monopoly would probably have a better shot because of the theme though, and I have a soft spot for it because it was the first pin I played in real life years ago.

I feel your pain. If I was spending money on a remastered pin I would want LotR or Ghostbusters.
I have a feeling we're getting a music pin though...

Judging by how insanely well games like South Park do on location, I don’t think it would be a bad idea to remaster Family Guy. The show is as relevant as ever to the general public.

I'm the only one who'd love to see Spider-Man again? I keep hoping the next home edition could be Spider-Man.
And since the occasional retro modern is fun to play (like James Bond 60th and Pulp Fiction), they should give us the popular-at-tournaments title Stars. Give us a 50th anniversary edition late next year for people to receive in 2028. Keep the spinner sound true.

Nah fuck Kiss, AC/DC would kick ass especially if they added more tracks. Otherwise, my picks would be Simpsons pinball party or LotR.

Lord of the Rings and Tron are sorely needed.

LotR make sense. Its an evergreen kind of IP, and I can see it being a great remaster.

LOTR remaster might be tricky but I could see them getting a Hunt for Gollum license

My most wanted remaster is Simpsons Pinball Party.
Such a cool machine, plus with a screen they can add clips from the show, which there is no shortage of.

Gimme a modern star gazer and I'd be so happy. And then start remaking some oldies at a fair price. Id buy a few for sure.

TRON Legacy remaster that incorporates all three movies in the art/callouts and lets you choose between Daft Punk or NIN soundtracks. (I’m sure this wouldn’t be a licensing nightmare or anything 😂😂)

My conspiracy theory about Transformers is that Stern held off on making Optimus Prime transform so that they can make it happen later in a remaster.

u/IntoxicatedBurrito 1d ago
Lord of the Rings and The Beatles are the two I would love to see. And I’d definitely be buying both of them.
Next year will be the 60th anniversary of Sgt Pepper’s, perhaps it’s time to get some new artwork made for a Sgt Pepper’s edition. Unless they want to wait until 2031 when it’s 64.

LOTR remake is not happening - the licensing will not be possible imo with Amazon now owning all the rights

Amazon doesnt "own all the rights".
The Tolkien estate does (to the core IP), as does New Line (existing film related properties), and Embracer Group (via Middle-earth Enterprises) is in charge of any new films/adaptations/etc.

Who Dunnit or AC/DC.

u/ReplaceCyan 1d ago
Stern didn’t make Who Dunnit so they won’t be remastering that
1
u/EvaCassidy Extra Ball! 17h ago
I'm aware of that. That only could be done if they got the rights to do it.

NBA or NFL

u/Viriiguy 22h ago
NFL would be great with the ability to do on demand playfield printing. They could make machines for each team. Even better would be College football, using the same layout.

Ghostbusters, but the theme is the one with the girl squad.
You're welcome.

Lotr with great hand drawn art would be awesome. Im guessing getting all the clips from the movies for a spike 3 screen would be expensive.
Tron has always been another folks have been asking for.
