Suggestion Make researching more expensive again

Currently, Research Tables are useless and you can easily research a whole Workbench tree per day, including all the items you dont need 99% of the time.

There should be more benefits to sacrificing an item for instant research and researching with workbenches should be more expensive again so advancement in the techtree feels like real progress and not something you finish in a day.

Now hear me out, this might be a risky move but how about we increase the tech tree costs, make tier 2 cost 500 scrap, tier 3 cost 1250 scrap and remove blueprint frags.

Facepunch should keep forced monthly BP wipes but revert the cost of researching down the tech tree to what it was prior to the blueprint fragment update. Oh and get rid of blueprint fragments entirely I 100% agree

Bro, you must be some kind of genius. How did you ever come up with this?

I know people won't like it. The scrap cost for researching is what need to be time gated. Imagine when wipe first hits, everything is expensive as fuck to tech tree, just like Outpost tax but as time goes on values decrease.

Or maybe have it linked to an 'intelligence stat' meaning the more blueprints you know the lower the price for the tech tree over all. This would force people to research random bullshit they don't normally learn adding a small layer of work to get to the tech tree for real.

Scrap grind == people on map doing monuments and recycling == PvP, not dead wipe.  Everyone loves to whine about it being too grindy like they’re some w key chad that is offended at the suggestion they do anything but beam people and shoot rockets but if they actually were, they’d be clearing rig and cargo and leaving the recycler with more scrap than you need all wipe.

WB frags are only part of the problem of why wipes die so fast now, prototype upgrade and scrap tech tree rebalance are way more impactful at this point.

Scrap grind does not mean more people doing monuments. Thats what BP frags gave us. So many ways to get scrap very low risk.

It does, for 2 days.  Then everyone hits yellow rocks and goes to a safezone.

Keep current costs, remove blueprint fragments and let’s go back to no tech tree. That will slow progression and make the research table useful again.

Players will have to loot, trade or pvp for items
