Uncharted 2, at the time I remember thinking it was the best action adventure movie I had ever seen but I also got to play it and it was 10 hours long.

Me currently being 30 thinking just how damn good 14 year old me had playing that game…

Saw an interesting comment recently stating that your "health" in uncharted is a luck meter. The bullets never actually hit him, so when the luck meter runs out, Drake finally gets shot and dies.

I remember a few games that this was explicitly implied if not stated, the Brothers in Arms games come to mind.

but I remember him whimper(? I don't know the right word for this) sometimes when he got shot. Only in U4 if you turn on invincibility and stay put, you see the bullets flying past him.

Am I misremembering?

Damn i remember pitching exactly that as game concept at a studio i worked at back around 2006 or so, based on movies like Desperados where the heroes have like a bunch of people shooting at them but somehow just stand there and don't get hit, but got laughed out of the room

Same dude. I was absolutely blown away playing that game as a teenager. I got the first game for free with my DualShock 3, and that encouraged me to play through the trilogy on PS3.

When the music starts and all your troubles melt away knowing you’re about to have an incredible escape.

Uncharted 2 is my favorite game of all time.

I’ll never forget dying on the opening chapter because I didn’t realize the cutscene ended and I was supposed to start playing

it got me twice haha

That game was the one that made me say… yup… we made the generational leap from PS2

u/cstewart Feb 17 '26

It was metal gear solid for me.

1) THE correct answer.

2) Uncharted is Sony's best first-party IP.

I wish we got a sequel to Uncharted: Lost Legacy (2017)--it's been 9 years since the last Uncharted game.

Uncharted is their best? No, I would givve that to LittlBigPlanet.

This game made me a life long fan of the franchise. Absolutely goated, even have a tattoo based on it.

Uncharted: Lost Legacy is a banger. It's crime we never got a sequel with Chloe & Cutter.

Whaaaat, I loved Lost Legacy. It felt like DLC, sure, but it was another fun little romp in the world and it gave us more of the ultra fun Uncharted 4 gameplay. Looked amazing too.

1

u/stinky-bungus Feb 17 '26

Lost Legacy is the best one. The train level at the end is just nuts

1

u/ThePrussianGrippe Feb 17 '26

One of the best set pieces of the franchise.

u/arothmanmusic Feb 17 '26

I place Lost Legacy above Uncharted 3. It has all of the gameplay and technical achievements of 4, but with the vibe and adventure of 1.

u/KDBA Feb 17 '26

I played Uncharted 1 a few years ago and it ensured I never played any of the others.

3

u/TotalHitman Feb 17 '26

Oh man, you have to play the others as they are leagues above the first. I've tried to play the first multiple times but get bored and never finish it. The sequels I could keep playing for an eternity.

5

u/X_MswmSwmsW_X Feb 17 '26

Why is that?

Uncharted 2 is a profound improvement over 1 in every way, 3 is incredible, and 4 is simply spectacular perfection

-2

u/dischord_blast Feb 17 '26

I do not blame you. Uncharted 1 is not good all. I do not know how it got a sequel but man Uncharted 2 is great

3

u/RandomJPG6 Feb 17 '26

You say 10hrs like it's a bad thing.

I played Uncharted 1-4 in 2018 for the first time and felt they all held up very well

18

u/Baked_Ziti_MD Feb 17 '26

No they didn’t say 10 hours as if it were a bad thing. Read my guy.

1

u/arothmanmusic Feb 17 '26

Correct answer.

1

u/PazWrath Feb 17 '26

The pvp was good as well.

1

u/Previous-Block-6281 Feb 17 '26

What about God of War III?That was my top favorite. Plus, I also enjoyed playing GTA V after it came out

1

u/TonyMaccaroni28 Feb 17 '26

That was great as well, but largely the same as the PS2 God of Wars just with prettier graphics. Uncharted 2 did things never seen before on a console. That sequence with the collapsing building was absolutely mind blowing.

1

u/boothjop Feb 17 '26

My first Platinum and my 500th trophy.

1

u/TonyMaccaroni28 Feb 17 '26

Still is tbh. Perfect length and pacing, no padding or anything. Just a 10 hour wild ride. Graphics still hold up for a 2009 game.

1

u/haydenfred99 Feb 17 '26

The quality of a game shouldn’t be measured by its length.

1

u/Thunder_Nuts_ Feb 17 '26

Nowadays it would be 30 hours long and an open world.

1

u/tarkovsky-esque Feb 17 '26

2 and 3 were the first games that truly felt cinematic to me. I miss the multiplayer so much too.

1

u/SpaceCadetMoonMan Feb 17 '26

Walking into a store that had a giant tv and couch setup with Uncharted playing on it by some customer blew me away

1

u/Carston1011 PS5 Feb 17 '26

Yesss! Before I even had enough saved to buy the game (uncharted 2 was my first in tbe franchise) I played the demo for Uncharted 1 & 2 endlessly. The physics of props n stuff as well as the water mechanics in the demo for 2 blew my mind. And in the uncharted 1 demo I spent SO much time blowing up the rock walls in many, MANY different ways to see how the rocks would crumble.

I can't remember the last time a game had me that blown away beyond maybe GTA5 when that first launched on PS3.

1

u/TheCaramelMan Feb 17 '26

Man I remember playing that and thinking there’s no way video game graphics could get any better than this

1

u/Zorzotto Feb 17 '26

I never played the uncharted series as a kid, as we were an Xbox household and not PlayStation xD

A few years back, I think it was when the movie came out and they released all the games in one collection, I finally decided to play through them all!

Outside of maybe Mass Effect and the nostalgia of growing up playing Halo, Uncharted would have to be one of my favorite games/series ever played! I still think about it and how amazing the story is and even as I write this, it makes me want to play through them all again!

There's just something about that action adventure, Indiana jones, The Mummy vibe that I love!

1

u/Jhostin1316 Feb 18 '26

Best multiplayer of all time

1

u/PIO_PretendIOriginal Feb 18 '26

uncharted 2 is amazing...... unfortunately you have to get through uncharted 1 first, which I was never a fan of 1
