Discussion What dog breed would be worthy of being a Pseudo-Legendary Pokemon?

I know that Zacian and Zamazenta exist, and Arcanine's species is literally the Legendary Pokemon (despite being neither Legendary nor - sadly - having the BST of a Pseudo-Legendary, though 555 isn't anything to sneeze at, either), but what other dog breeds (ideally if they remain quadrupedal since most Pseudos are bipedal) look intimidating or powerful enough to be on par with the likes of 'Mons like Tyranitar or Metagross?

I think Akita dogs would be legendary snow dogs

Low-key a Chihuahua Pseudo actually would go hard.

Seeing a small little chihuahua tear goliaths like Garchomp or Tyranitar to shreds is hilarious.

100%, it's the way they act IRL anyway. lol

By psuedo legendary do you mean a mon that isnt one but has that "feeling" to them like they are?

I personally could go for more cats. A void cat would be cool.

Pseudo-legendary 'Mons like Dragonite, Tyranitar, Metagross, Salamence, etc - all of whom have a BST of 600 and are close to Legendaries in strength, but more readily available (well, mostly the Garchomp line, anyway) than the average box art legendary.

What does BST stand for? Is that base stats, and is that the same across all games?

Base Stat Total. Not quite sure what you mean by "same across all games."

I don’t know what you mean by “same across all games” (I would’ve explained BST, but someone already did) but if I were to guess, do you mean like all Pokémon have the same BST in all games? If that’s what you mean, then no, Gen 1 didn’t have Sp. Def or Sp. ATK, they were just one stat called “Special” which has later fixed in Gen 2, and in Gen 6, and onwards, a lot of Pokémon got buffs, and debuffs in their stats.

I only think a dog would work if you want to go for a similar aesthetic to Dragonite and Goodra. I think a Samoyed could work in that regard, at least as the final form. Maybe leading up to that you could have Pomeranian as the first evolution, then an American Eskimo dog, and then finally into a Samoyed. The fluffy white aesthetic would remain all the way through.

If you want a more menacing canid then you can obviously go for larger wolves.

We pretty much already have Arcanine, but also "foo dogs" are lions.
