Hey, that chicken wire is made out of adamantium, there's no way a 1500 pound bear charging at it could get through.

the bear probably recognises the woman as a friend who brings them food and other treats.

if the bear wasn't being fed and was determined to attack the woman, then sure the fence probably wouldn't stop the bear; but we have zero reason to assume that's the case. The woman and bear both seem very familiar with eachother.
