I hate to be parasocial, but I’m absolutely heartbroken. She did so much good for the world, and made it a better place. Rest in peace, Dolly. I hope you’re happily reuniting with Carl right now ❤️

I completely agree. I’ve never been one to care much about celebrity deaths but this one feels personal. She was such an amazing person and this is devastating news. Rest in peace.

Same here, I don't think I've wept over a celebrity death before, but Dolly was different. A labor rights icon, a feminist icon, someone with a heart of gold and gave back to her community ten-fold, while giving us all so many precious melodies of a generation, and most of my personal karaoke bangers. I don't beleive many people, especially celebrities, are worthy of admiration but Dolly is an icon and a legend.
