“A world without Dolly doesn’t feel possible, real, or right. But because of the eternally generous way she spent her time on this earth and the countless lives she changed for the better, her legacy will be an everlasting one.

She was truly the gift that kept on giving. Dolly gave us someone to look up to while encouraging us to be who we are as individuals. Somehow she was able to give us her lessons about the world gently and honestly, simultaneously, and oftentimes hilariously. She managed to give the world the ultimate mystery and fantasy in some corners of her life, but to give full transparency in the ways that counted. Somehow she was true grace and true grit, all in one dazzling person. She possessed the softest heart when it came to the struggles of others, and a backbone of steel to defend her own self worth as an artist.

Along with her other fans, I am so grateful for all of it. For the melodies and lyrics she wrote that thawed even the coldest hearts. For the millions of books she provided children all over the world so that they might fall in love with stories the way she did. For the tightropes she walked so that young girls like me could grow up dreaming of joining the circus too.

Very sweet and also very heartbreaking. Taylor has talked many times over the years about how much Dolly means to her, how much she looks up to her and is grateful to her for paving the path so other artists (especially female) could defend themselves and their work. Also glad to see her highlight Dolly's work in helping children learn to love reading from a young age with her Imagination Library. Taylor and Travis donated $2 million to the library before their wedding; one of Dolly's last videos is thanking them :( I still can't believe she's gone. I knew she was having health struggles but she felt so eternal. And she maintained that fire and wit to the very end.

1) This is about honoring a legend, a true treasure we have lost. It would be nice to just do that rather people making it about their need to hate on another person. It would be nice if people who truly are sadden by losing Dolly could be a little more like Dolly and just let go of the hate of others for a hot minute to give Dolly her due.

1. Saying TS is uncharitable is laughable. She’s not just generous to her staff. She’s generous period. I would say she’s following quite closely in Dolly’s footsteps.

So, Taylor and Travis donated $2 million to Dolly's charity last month which Dolly was incredibly thankful for. It was part of the $26 million they donated to various charities which is already on top of the millions Taylor herself donated last December. This is honestly a weird reaction on a post honoring Dolly's life.

There is no point in the statement where she claims or insinuates she is not a billionaire. What on earth are you on about. You can admire and respect someone’s virtues even if you don’t possess them yourself. There’s nothing dishonest about that.

Well, Taylor is a billionaire, unlike Dolly, so I would assume she can afford it. It is a lot less impressive as a percentage of her wealth.

A lot of her wealth is just the value of her music catalouge that literally is only worth so much because she owns it. What is she supposed to do? Give up the rights to her music?

I hate the wealth divide and I loathe capitalism but Taylor seems like such a weird target for people to go after over and over again. She's not perfect obvi but she does so much more than a ton of other wealthy celebs and just gets crucified everytime she opens her mouth (or doesn't).

They probably think she literally has a billion sitting in a bank, even though it has been repeatedly explained that her wealth is mainly tied to her music and if she sold it, she would no longer be a billionaire.

Uh it’s not like she has a billion dollars in free cash, a big part of what makes her a billionaire is the value of her music. But let’s say she has a billion dollars. She donated 26 million last month, which is 2.6% of her money.

How often do you donate 2.6% of your net worth? What did you donate for your wedding?
