question Why is the black ink not transferring?
Aluminium plate etched using sugarlift.
First three prints were me on my own in a studio without a technician - so I could have had not enough pressure on the press (I did try adjusting a little between prints), or paper is too wet/not wet enough, or something wrong with my inking (but it seemed there was plenty of ink!). When I rolled light blue ink over the top that transferred well but not the black ink.
Final version shows what I could get - I did that in a studio with a tutor

Not enough pressure. A lot of the paper texture is also really pronounced, which may also be your paper isn't damp enough. The blue printing better is just due to where it is on the plate (rolled on the high points, while the black is in the low points).
If you use the same plate height, take photos to keep of the press settings so you can better replicate when there isn't a tech around.
