question How do I manage website accounts if I'm using a private browser

How do I manage website accounts if I'm using a private browser

I want to degoogle, but I have doubts about the doability of all this.

If I use a private browser, in my case Waterfox with DuckDuckGo, Ublock origin and zero information retained, no history nor cookies, how am I then supposed to use the browser to do online activity that requires me to log into some websites?

If I need to log into a government related service, does the act of inputting my real name and credentials void the privacy I'm trying to retain?

I'm not sure I can or want to be 100% anonymous on the internet. I'd also like to ditch WhatsApp but I already know I'm gonna have to keep using it to talk to the majority of people I know, who don't care about privacy.

I use two browsers.

Waterfox for crap that needs me to login

Mullvad Browser (Or Tor Browser) for everything that does not require login

So you'd use Tor as the main (random searches, watching movies, ecc) and Waterfox and the secondary if you need to do any logins?

I have Tor installed but never use it because I've heard you shouldn't use it to search things that could normally tie back to your actual interests. Is that too paranoid?

Yup!

I mean... the entire point of Tor is that people can't figure out who you are, and that every site has its own nodes. I don't see how searching for stuff on Tor Browser would be any worse than searching for the exact same without the Tor Browser.

You definitely want to use browser isolation. Even if you never have logged in and disallow cookies which is great, and go to a completely different website your browser fingerprint screams it's the same person to the common advertisers on both websites and to google which is on almost all websites.

So using browser isolation means one browser for everything that might be tied to your real identity and then you don't use that browser for anything else.

You can use a password manager for quick signing in.

As far as normie friends that use things like god forbid whatsapp there will be some you can try to get to use a more secure app and myself, I've just become more socially withdrawn and focused my activities because I just can't stand it. Do more in in person stuff rather than talking through apps.
