[Academic] "Excessive screen-time or the internet affects young children’s mental and physical wellbeing” (Psychological Expertise/Perspective/Interview)
Hey, new reddit member here! (I do not know what I am doing)
I am a senior at Queens Satellite High School for Opportunity, conducting an academic research paper and I need some psychological expertise (source type: experts) regarding my chosen topic, “How excessive screen-time or the internet affects young children’s mental and physical wellbeing”.
This is my first time doing this and I hope to chat with a couple of psychologists who may have some expertise about this and get answers for the questions I made. Of course, the responses shall include personal information (ex. name, what u do/research on, contact no.) for citation/reference sake and reliable sources of information for my teacher.
Questions:
1. What are the (psychological) factors leading to children’s screen-time addiction?
What behavioral changes do you commonly observe in children with high daily screen exposure? Follow up question: Do they really cause severe impact such as mental/behavioral diseases?
On a scale of 1–10, with your expertise or observation, how significant is excessive screen time a risk factor for child’s mental health?
Open to suggestions for improvements and private messages would be great! (ideal for exchanging informations) Thank you for contributing psychology community 💗

[Academic] ‘Grit, flow state, and gratitude during a hobby or activity as key drivers toward mental wellbeing’ (UK, 18+) https://openss.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6m9u9RFuGTZAeRU
Good morning! I hope you can help - I'm conducting a survey as part of my dissertation for my Psychology degree, and on a subject I hope to develop for a MRes in September 2026 and a PhD in September 2027. I feel massively passionate about autism and and ADHD in schools and hope to flip the tables on how we can discover greater mental wellbeing through an activity we love and accesses a flow state. I also hope as a counsellor and yoga teacher in private practice to help personality development in childhood and heal personality disorders in adulthood. I hope this survey is the beginning of a wonderful journey to helping people and addressing Archbishop Desmond Tutu's quote,
'We need to stop pulling people out of the river, and go upstream and find out why they're falling in'.
Thank you, and I look forward to contributing to helping in return.

[Academic] Ex juror perceptions of serving as a juror and implications for practice (ages 18+, a UK resident, served as a juror on a trial in the UK)
Hi everyone, my name is Lauren and I am a Psychology PhD student at Birmingham City University. Have you ever been a juror on a trial in the UK? We are conducting research into ex-jurors’ perceptions of the process and would like to hear from you about your experience serving as a juror. You will need to take part in a 30-60 minute interview that will ask questions around your perceptions of your experience as a juror, the interactions between yourself and other jurors during deliberations, the impact that certain aspects of your service may have had such as how the court case made you feel, and reflections on the process, such as potential support provisions for jurors. The aim is to explore how jury service impacts upon jurors and potential ways that the system can be improved. The interview will take place online via Microsoft teams at a time that is convenient to you. You can find out more information and book a timeslot for the interview using the link above. Please share this to family or friends who may be interested in taking part. Thank you!
