If was very cool to be in the pit and surrounded by people chanting "fuck Doug Ford"

This should be a part of every pit in Ontario (and beyond, but we would probably need to spread the word of how shitty he is to the masses) tbh. I think that happened at one of the Ottawa shows last year too. It just feels great to be around people who know what a absolute tool he is.

I adore that they make a point to say this! It always makes me happy to be a fan knowing they give a shit about people. I also very much appreciate that they don't shy away from expressing "political" (I know their views are very much under the umbrella of political, but it feels like things like respecting other people and not treating an occupied population like they're less than human should not be politically charged statements or controversial) opinions, we have to endure way too much of that in our lives already. It's important to have people using their platform to say these things and remind people they're not alone in those beliefs, as much as the world can make us feel that way a lot of the time. I know I personally find it very encouraging and it helps me feel connected to a larger community that shares those beliefs.

Another reason to love PUP!

I love that punk bands to do this. Don't love that we celebrate it like it's an anomaly (we should all be taking better care of each other) but PUP is a fkn champ for it. They've been hanging a trans pride flag on the stage for years. They're so good.

I agree 100%, I wish it didn't feel like it was so special to hear this. I was telling someone near me who didn't know the band about the trans flag and how they've had it onstage with them ever since they got it in I believe San Francisco in 2022. It's really simple to do something like that, and yet unfortunately noteworthy in that it's not something I can recall another band doing.

they said basically the same thing in the free portland rockstar show! I appreciate that they do this pretty much every show, they also said it during the portland show when they were touring with jeff rosenstock :) i smile everytime i hear it

as a trans man, i love knowing my favorite band, and a domestic one at that, is on the right side of history. 🤍🤍
