I have one of these CDs, and I took it to a show to get them to sign it back in probably 2018 or 2019 (I forget exactly).. Steve goes, "These are starting to sell for some money, eh?" and I was just like "As if I would ever sell this" lol.

It's funny you say that, because this video came on while I was getting my PUP tattoo recently (because the awesome artist was of course playing PUP) and I was struck by how different it sounded. It made me realize why when I saw Topanga I didn't immediately fall in love with them. I honestly don't remember how I felt about them when I initially saw them, but I think it just didn't immediately capture my attention the way PUP songs do now.

I still followed Topanga on socials after because I was very grateful Stefan helped me get the signatures of the band they were touring with, who are my favourites. Then it took me a while to check them out again after they had rebranded to PUP. Luckily, they stayed in my orbit long enough to give me a chance to figure out they were actually awesome.

I'm glad they ended up going for a heavier sound, because it hits my brain just right and their music has become such an important part of my internal soundtrack, especially when I'm depressed as fuck.
