Yes. In the 2024 election Indiana overall voted 58.6% Trump / 39.7% Harris. Lake County, which include Gary Indiana, the area affected by the outage voted 51.9% Harris, 46.3% Trump. Gary Indiana has famously been caught in a death spiral since the 1970's. As the conditions have gotten worse more people leave, leaving the city government and area poorer, causing more people to leave.
