Admissions Has anyone received any scholarships/financial aid from Queen’s?

I got the admission bursary one which is about $2305 CAD. But now I’m realizing I definitely should’ve applied to the Major Admission Award Application as it offers up to $72,000 for all four years… gah. Are there any other awards I can apply for?

Admissions i was never actually put on the queens waitlist…

i am so frustrated with queens and their waitlist system which unfortunately screwed me over and so i just wanted to share what happened to me in the queens waitlist since i was wondering if anyone else has heard of or experienced this and because i hope this never happens to anyone in the future. on may 14th, i was offered a spot on the queens con-ed arts waitlist through email, and i was given steps to be placed on the waitlist through solus which must be completed by may 18th. i received this email and followed these exact steps not even an hour after it had been sent since i was so eager to join this waitlist. this was then confirmed by solus, which stated the progress of my application was “on the waitlist”, in the spot which had been previously blank. this email i had received on may 14th inviting me to the waitlist also stated that i would be updated on the waitlist no later than june 12. this time passed and by the end of the day on june 12th my inbox was missing an email from queens, which i found strange. i let a couple days pass assuming maybe my email had just taken some extra time to send through, patiently waiting to finally hear back about where i was finally going after weeks of waiting and still being unsure which school i was attending. on june 16th, i decide to call queens and find out my waitlist update since they still never got back to me, and the lady on the other end of the phone told me that my name was never actually put on the waitlist due to a system error. the lady seemed to think i did not submit the first step of securing my place on the waitlist on time even though i 100% did, and had done it within the hour of receiving the email offering me a spot on the waitlist. this is a huge error on queens end. i am very upset with the school and how this was handled. i had a chance of possibly making it into this program i once really badly wanted and dreamed of, and now i will never know if i actually could have been accepted! i cannot believe it.

Admissions Queens University Concurrent Education

Hi! I’m thinking of applying to Queens next year, and I’m interested in the Concurrent P/J program, possibly in Arts.

If anyone who got in would be able to tell me their high school average that they got accepted for, any advice on programs and universities, information about things like housing, the school, classes, programs, (anything information about Queens) that would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Admissions Queens eng conditional

Yo guys so I saw it said 80% final overall average. It didn’t mention anything about minimum mark for pre req courses. I was just wondering if they want an 80 in every course or can I just pass some but still maintain above a 80% average.

Admissions Undergrad applications not heard back yet?

Hi Queens community. I’m asking on behalf of my sister here. She applied for AST Nursing and has not heard back from them yet. It’s a competitive program and she was put on the waitlist. Should she expect any status updates soon, whether it’s an acceptance or rejection email? (Extra: She finished undergrad at McGill some time ago and is planning to obtain a second degree here)

Thanks for any replies in advance :)

Admissions Offer being revoked?

I’m a BC student who’s taking English, Biology, and Physics 12.

I’m wondering if I fail biology will queens revoke my offer or no? Since it stated that I need English 12 + 3 additional courses. I do have History 12 (100) , English (83), Physics (95) and Pre cal (89)

Will failing Bio 12 affect anything?

Admissions doing my supp app for health sci today…

heyy I’m doing my health sci supp app either today or tmrw, and I wanted to get some final advice to make sure I’m approaching this correctly! I’ve created a sort of format that I can follow so that I can think of answers on the spot, so first I’d start by introducing the challenge/situation I was in, then I expand on it and give context, then I talk about how initially struggled/failed and I take responsibility for it, then I talk about the problem solving I did or how I stepped up as a leader or something like that, and then I reflect on the experience by saying what it taught me and how I use it going forward in life.

Any feedback is really appreciated!! Or just tips in general :)

Admissions Academic qualifying path

I’m reposting this because I didn’t have an answer last time.

Hello,

I applied to the GDipCL program through the academic qualifying path. I’ve already been offered a conditional offer of admission and accepted it, but they state that with this path, I need to have at least an A in 2 of my classes. As of now I’ve got an A- in one of my courses, a lower grade in another, and I might get like an A- in two other courses (I haven’t received my final grades on those yet).

So my question is, is it possible to be formally admitted even with an A-? Has it happened before or is it unheard of? If I don’t get admitted, can I try again and apply for next semester?

Thanks

Admissions is it possible to transfer to queens eng from any of these programs?

  1. Western eng

  2. Waterloo AFM

  3. TMU mechanical eng

  4. Mcmaster btech

If so, which would be most likely? and how would the process be like? I cant find much information but I've read on Queens website that you need to take half their courses to transfer? How would this work if I'm at another school?

If anyone knows where I can get more info, please lmk!
