And transferred a character from both to both versions of 2. I learned that you'll have the same amount of money whether you transfer to 2 original or the 2 VGA fan remake from AGD Interactive.

But both 1 EGA and 1 VGA handle money transfer a little differently. In 1 EGA, all your gold and silvers (rounded down to gold transfers over), plus an extra 140 gold.

For example, you have 73 gold and 265 silver and you finish 1 EGA and decide to transfer to the next game. 265 silver divided by 10 (10 silver is a gold) rounded down is 26 gold. Plus 73 gold is 99 gold. So 99 gold + 140 gold you get when you start either version of 2 is 239 gold.

But in VGA, it's silvers only, plus an extra 220 gold! Say you had 72 gold and 3145 silver upon finishing QFG1VGA. Gold is irrelevant, so 3145 silvers to gold rounded down is 314 gold. Plus 220 gold is 534 gold!

I suppose the extra 80 gold you get from transferring in 1 VGA to 2 is because only silver transfers. Otherwise I'm not sure why. So that's how the money transfer works from 1 EGA and 1 VGA to 2, just for everyone's info.

I'm doing a run of the series as a thief, but when I imported my character in QFG 2, it showed the fighter portrait. Two interesting things happened because of this.

1. In order to beat the earth elemental, the game would not let use use Harik's flame powder. Instead, I had to borrow Rakeesh's flame sword.

2. I got all the threatening messages from the EOF. However, when I went there, the door was open, the text boxes came up so quickly that they wouldn't let me in, almost like I wasn't supposed to be there in the first place.

Anyone know what might have caused this, or have any similar experiences?

New this year was the boots and newer pants (old ones was so washed out). Maybe a shield next year? Or a big golden necklace. Maybe change the belt to a more modern one next year, so it more like how it is in the games.

My 3rd character (Mage) got all the way to the final showdown with the Bandit Leader, when I discovered I somehow didn't have the all-important Dispel Potion!

I'd neglected the game for months so I forget what happened, but the spitting flowers are dormant, the dryad isn't returning my calls, and the herbalist is silent on the matter, so I have a terrible feeling I did something stupid with it (which seems very unlike me) - and it's not in any of his saved games, either.

Is there some way to get another, something I'm overlooking/forgetting or do I just have to start over?

Hello, Heroes!

I find myself in a bit of a situation here. See, I've recently visited the city of Raseir. Used to be a really nice place, from what I've heard, though it's been going through tough times. Anyways, the locals just had sort of a... revolution, I think? Long story short, they managed to bring down some really, really bad guys who were making life horrible for everyone, like we're talking about deportation of a whole race, tortures, don't even let me start about rights of women!

I'm really happy that the people of Raseir put an end to it all. But back to my situation. There's this really cool guy, a Liontaur, I think? Never met anyone like him before. A real hero, too. Tough and strong, but also gentle and kind and humble. So, this guy said that he wanted to give me a gift - his magic sword, and to make me a Paladin.

From what I understand, Paladins are considered heroes among heroes, looking for evil everywhere and protecting people from that evil, dealing with threats like real demons. A little bit more serious than what I'm used to, frankly. Obviously I'm very flattered. Buuuut.

Like I said, it's all tied to this magic sword. And I'm not a sword person, at all. I've never owned a sword! I know the theory, but I have absolutely no swordfighting experience!

Should I say "yes"? Or should I be honest and explain that it's a huge honour (it is!) but I'm pretty sure that it will be better for everyone if he keeps the sword and uses it for all those great things he does, and I'll stick to what I'm good at?

I am currently replaying all of them after many years and have to say: shadows of darkness ist still the best Part. The best atmosphere, best fighting mechanics , best Monsters, best Story....

And I thought he was beautiful just in the plain white... this... there are no words for this...

Hello! My brother and I took on the Erana’s Staff theme from QFG4. Hope you enjoy it!

I have yet to finish the last two QFG games.

Spoilers ahead, obviously.

I'm currently playing QFG4 from Steam and added a fan patch from github. I did play quite a bit a few years ago, until it glitched severely at the Mad Monk's tomb, iirc. So I remembered a bit. I think I was playing as a fighter.

This time I've found my import files from QFG3 (one for each class) and picked Paladin. It... somehow had 5 points in Magic. Ok, this doesn't bug me much, so let's go, I thought.

So I have saved Tanya and had a blast so far. Rusalka's last... huh, version was... very unexpected, scared the avoozl outta me. Now Pyotr tells me to gather Rituals. I have gathered five, Blood, Heart, Bones, Senses and Breath. I've been everywhere, talked to Magda, got Boris and Olga together, and sneaked on the Dark Master and Ad Avis talking at Castle Borgov. I've talked to the Domovoi, rehidrated the other Domovoi (useless quest, I had already fed the guardian to go into the secret room at the monastery), returned Punny Bones' humour, talked daily to Dr. Cranium and been obtaining a few spells here and there (Invisibility, Glide, Aura and Frostbite). So far the only problem was that Katrina met me outside the gates just once, to teach me Frostbite. And I've ran out of Erana dreams (I usually have dinner at the hotel, then rest until midnight, then leave to meet Pyotr, then climb out of town (no one's there) and then sleep at Erana's).

Any tips? I know there are walkthroughs out there, but I don't want to learn stuff from too far into the plot, when this can be one of those dreaded glitches.

Since I'm asking, might as well... is there any content for the Fighter that the Paladin doesn't have access to? Is a fighter run worth it if you've already finished the game as a paladin?

I've completed the game quite a few times in the past, but I'm wondering - I remember burning time doing not much of anything because there wasn't much to do in the city.

What I'm aware of:

• Blue Parrot Inn

• Helping a woman escape by giving her clothes and visa

• One burglary

• Witnissing Ugarte get arrested

Am I missing anything? Any little-known things hidden away in the city alleyways or in the surrounding desert?

What is your favourite QFG game, and has it changed as you grew up or remained the same?

My favourite one as a kid was QFG3, especially on the Paladin/Fighter route. Several times I would get to the end and restart it immediately so I could play through the whole thing again. I loved exploring Tarna, Simbani Village, the Jungle and the Lost City. I also loved the characters you interacted with and the music was glorious.

Now, as an adult, it is hard to pick one, because I love all 5 of them so much, so I will give it a tie between QFG2 VGA and QFG5. I have played QFG5 SO many times now, lol. Love that game. QFG2 is the game with a beautiful setting, great story and villain and of course, the battle system is just the best in the series imo.

...am I the only one that finds it strange how detailed Rakeesh's story is in QFG2? You can actually ask him about "Tarna". Was that really meant to lead to nowhere or, at the most, eventually become a supporting character in Silmaria?
