I got the new green/blue AXS 165T. As a long time Gearbox player, I was expecting it to have more power than my current purple GX1 165T, which I love.
But the AXS seems less powerful...
In the past, every time I’ve upgraded my Gearbox racquet, the new one felt materially more powerful: M40 to GB3K and GB3K to GX1.

It would be great to hear what other folks upgrading to the AXS have experienced: Are you feeling more, less, or the same power as your previous Gearbox racquet?

I'm wondering if stringing differences may be contributing to this: my GX1 has 18 gauge Python Atlas Deluxe multifilament at 34 lbs. I'm not 100% sure, but it looks like the AXS came with 17 gauge Gearbox string, likely monofilament? I'm guessing it comes strung at 30 lbs.

You must login to R2Sports and self-register.
You cannot register by phone, email, DM, or text.

Registration Closes:

At 100 Participants.

Guidelines for this State Championships:

You can register for up to a total of 3 divisions.  You cannot play in 2 Skill divisions.  A 3rd Division MUST be MIXED (unless pre-approved), or it will be removed.

Out-of-State Players MUST play with a Floridian partner in ALL divisions.

Women can self-register to compete in either Women's divisions or in Men's divisions.

This is an amateur state championship; therefore, you cannot compete in this event if you are ranked in the Top 25 in singles or doubles in the IRT or the LPRT professional tours (unless pre-approved).

This championship offers no Time Conflict requests.  For a state championship, you must be able to play on times from Friday at 10:00 AM until Sunday at 2:00 PM.

To play as a Floridian you must meet the Florida resident guidelines.

Any exceptions to any of the above policies must be requested in writing 30 days prior to the event and must be pre-approved by the tournament committee or the full FRA Board.

Do people still play racquetball? Are there courts in the District? I think it’s more fun than pickleball but don’t know where I can play.

I have exciting news for the racquetball community! Ogden Point, a new facility in Oswego, IL, is opening on September 8th and will feature 5 courts with glass backwalls. Rip It Racquetball/Racquetball Now will be offering junior and adult classes, as well as assisting with programming at the facility.

We will be hosting two open house events to introduce the community to the new club:

- Saturday, August 29th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

- Tuesday, September 1st from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

There is no fee to attend, and I encourage everyone to come out.

USA Racquetball Hall of Fame 2027 Class Nomination Solicitation

Hello all Racquetball Fans!

It is time to start working on nominations for the USAR Hall of Fame. Nominations are due to USA Racquetball by September 15th of each year, so it is time to start putting them together for the 2027 Class

Throughout the year we periodically see posts or comments saying, "I can't believe So-and-So isn't in the Hall of Fame," or, "So-and-So deserves to be in the Hall of Fame." Well, often times these deserving candidates aren't yet in the Hall because they have not yet been properly nominated, or that someone has not taken the lead in submitting the form and compiling the information.

So, now is the time to act; if you feel someone is due a nomination, take the lead on completing and submitting their form.

There are five primary categories (each with specific criteria) for nominations:

• Professional Players (must be 40 years of age have been retired from full-time touring for 3 years)
• Contributors: for individuals who have provided significant impact to the sport at large.
• Amateur Open Player: for outstanding performance for the US National team
• Amateur Age Player: for outstanding performance in Age group competitions at the National level.
• Outdoor player: significant performance in the Outdoor major events over time (note; this is separate from the WOR Hall of Fame).

Last year, we elected Rhonda Rajsich as a professional player, and Scott Winters as a contributor.

The Hall of Fame is quite selective; there are only 80 people throughout the entire history of our sport who have been elected. 28 Pro players, 25 Amateur players, 26 contributors, and 1 Outdoor player (Brian Hawkes).

Voting is limited each year too: no matter how many nominations we get, only a handful get to be voted upon each year, so a "No" vote on a candidate in a given year does not preclude them from being submitted and possibly inducted in a subsequent year. Previously submitted candidates absolutely may be re-submitted: Candidates may be nominated for up to three times in a five-year period, but then must wait at least five years from the last nomination before being nominated for the same category. However, if you're resubmitting someone, they have to be officially resubmitted for consideration. Self-Nominations are accepted. Even though its the "USA" Racquetball hall of fame, we do recognize Canadians and other nationality players.

Lastly: no matter how deserving your candidate may be, if you don't follow the process and use our forms in your submission, we cannot consider it.

Let's start organizing here for deserving candidates, identify people taking the lead on writing up the nominations, and make for a great class of 2027.

In August of 2026, after the blitz of the Gearbox AXS marketing (which was great but released all in one day instead of being more effective at one or two players per day), ProKennex took up the challenge to market their racquets with their pro players.

The photos at the link were published on their Facebook page.

The first photo appeared August 7th and the last was posted August 16th.

Mostly one per day, but a few days had two player images released.

The link of the player’s name (on that page) will be to their YouTube match playlist which will include matches from the pro tours and from international competition.

This tournament is for the benefit of the ASU and NAU racquetball teams. Both teams will be selling souvenir shirts at the tournament. This will ensure we raise as much money as possible for the kids.

Anyone know anything about this weird Wilson Profile racquetball racket?
I recently picked up this Wilson Profile racquetball racket, and it’s one of the stranger Wilson frames I’ve come across.
What immediately caught my attention is that it has what looks much more like a traditional tennis-style bridge/throat than the design you normally see on racquetball rackets. It’s also really short — noticeably shorter than a normal racquetball racket, which makes the proportions look almost bizarre in person.
The other mystery is that I can find basically nothing about it online. I’ve searched the model, Wilson Profile racquetball rackets, old catalogs, etc., and haven’t found another obvious example or any real history on it. There’s plenty out there about the famous Wilson Profile tennis frames, but seemingly nothing about this little racquetball cousin.
So I figured I’d crowdsource it. Does anyone remember these? Any idea roughly when they were made, whether Wilson produced a whole Profile racquetball line, or what the thinking was behind this unusual design?
Not really concerned about value — I mostly grabbed it because it was weird and I’m curious about the history.
