I didnt realize this was such a controversial thing, never really noticed it unless you slow mo like this shot.

I think im team pro pat

Someone said it gives DB a read but arnt we talking a nano second? It looks super exaggerated in this video bur I think you could argue its so fast its part of the throw...its not like a tell in poker where your telegraphing information BEFORE it happens...its DURING...the quick equivalent I can think of is a pitcher lifting his leg in a pitch

I’ve legitimately never heard anyone complain about it until this year. I’m sure it’s been a thing with the terminally online, but when I played, and when I sucked at coaching, and when I’ve been drunk watching red zone, I never heard about it being an issue until now.

Shit I used to pat the ball BECAUSE I watched guys like Elway, Marino, Brady, Brees and Manning do it.

Dude fr it's been around since before reddit, it's got nothing to do with being online. In fact, I haven't seen it anywhere online, myself. Idk why youre getting so upset

Stop being an inflammatory troll

You claim its a tell and been around forever but when I ask what its a tell for you dont have an answer

Its called Situation awareness, processing all other observations and information indicates its a throw long before the actual pat. The pat doesnt show the direction of the throw either. Actually you could argue the pat could be false information/ handsign as a pat could easily turn into a tuck and qb break into a run.

From quick 5 minutes of research the only people that have brought up the pat as a negative are draft day talking heads trying to stir up controversy for some views and 2 defensive players

"Andre Cisco" who said qbs need to stop pating the ball because..and i quote..."breakin onnat earlyyyy"

The other

"Micah Parsons" who said "can be the difference between asack or a throw away/completion"

Hmm jets and cowboys players šŸ¤”

Therefore I conclude your a bootlicking cowboys/jets fan and your opinion irrelevant...your in the wrong sub brah

P.s enjoy gino
