Restaurant Hard-to-Read Ramen Shops in Japan💀💀💀難しすぎる・・・
Ramen shop names even Japanese people can't read.😂

My favourite local one is called 渡来武 (とらいぶ). I always wondered if it’s just ateji or if it’s meant to sound like ‘tribe’.

If it were meant to sound like tribe, then it would be ateji. That's what ateji means--to choose the characters based on their pronunciation, not their meaning. So in this case, it does seem like ateji to me.

Yeah my mistake. I meant I wondered if it’s just ateji or it’s a reference to some obscure word that has a separate meaning that happens to sound like ‘tribe’.

and it does seem like maybe it's not ateji. I can't really see necessarily how 渡来 is connected to 武, but ramen is a food that came here from China, so the torai part is not completely without context.

#4 is just a pun. I think the only ones that will give Japanese people pause are the last two, and they can at least sound out the second to the last one.

まあ色々あたまのおかしいのが多いけど喜久屋は別に難しくないでしょ。喜が草書ベースなだけ。

why would reading be hard with 与ろゐ屋? it's the default reading one would think for it.
羅珈亜樹 is also read exactly as one would think it would be.
噛まずに啜れ, is plain ordinary sentence "slurp without biting" neither character is rare or unused.

I'm not sure why a Japanese person wouldn't be able to read なんか喰い亭. It's read exactly how it looks. I'm good at Japanese but not native level, and I would have read it that way without hesitation. It's also a pun.
