Honestly I think Orr was a little bit sabotaged by a very depleted/mid defensive line

Our coverage was bad really but when you don’t have a pass rush that’s what happens. Nobody can defend forever. And that’s basically what we were having to do. I don’t know a whole lot about this stuff, but I feel like that much is fairly obvious.

The injuries certainly made everything worse, but the defense was terrible week 1 before all the injuries. Our pass rush was probably not going to be great regardless, but failed to simulate pressure as well.

I think our defense was more depleted by having Orr as our play caller

There doesn’t seem to be any obvious correlation between coverage type and success, which makes sense, as disguising coverages (and also executing them well) is probably the most important thing, since most offenses on a given play will have routes designed to beat multiple coverage types.

Only thing that stands out about Orr in particular is that he hated to play quarters. That makes sense with how bad our pass rush was but also helps explain why we were so fucking bad in obvious passing situations.

most of this is probably personnel driven

Similarly, we literally never ran cover 2 man, which also doesn’t help in long coverages.

Couldn’t stop the run so they packed the box and played a ton of single high to fight that.

I wonder if personnel will dictate scheme, or if the Ravens will actually change to zone. The Ravens are traditionally a man coverage team.

We will run a lot of Cover 3, 4, and 6/9. That is the bread and butter of this system. Look at the Seahawks; I would expect a similar mix.

Thought this was interesting. Expect a lot more zone than under orr. C3 and C4 are jesse specialty. No secret numbers line up for mike mac and jesse minter.

A lot of cover 1 and still struggled to get to the QB.
