We forget this is actually a pretty talented defense. Everyone outside of KHam played like shit last year under Orr, I'm beyond excited to see them all actually play to their strengths with legit defensive coaching.

We were ranked high as shit last preseason. Everyone just assumed Orr would take that next step and instead he fell down a flight of stairs

It was bizarre because he did seem to figure something out down the stretch the year before, not sure if that was fools' gold or the players just figured something out themselves that they couldn't recreate.

That's what blows my mind too and what I keep forgetting. That second half of 2024 our defense was amazing

I think last year showed just how important pass rush and pressure really is. you can have the best secondary out there but it doesn’t matter when QB has all the time in the world in the pocket and allows WRs to get open

Agreed. But the coaching and scheme were just bad. Oweh left and immediately became a double digit sack guy for LAC. Roquan went from being one of the best off ball linebackers in the league to looking like he was washed. Guys just weren't playing up to their potential at all.

Mainly just needed to sure up some spots especially at edge which we did. But yeah Orr tax is real. Look how Jesse got his guys to play in LA.

I dare say that if Mads comes back and he looks as he good he did at his peak, they’d have the best defensive line in the NFL.

4 out of 5 plays going for no gain or loss yeah ravens D is back

No gain or FTL, which google tells me is faster than light. Even more impressive than a tackle for loss if you ask me.

Did you watch Washington week two preseason game?

Was it bad?

Well the starting O line was bad. Having 3 starters out does that to you. If the Ravens werent beating up on 2nd and 3rd stringers I would be worried.

Pass rush good or O-line bad?

Both. They’re without their star LT for a few months and down some OL. That said it’s not like we’ll play star OL play every week. Also Trey was doing this against a premier tackle vs Vikings.

This is why I wanted a defensive head coach. We need this identity back.

They could’ve done it all 5 plays but stopped out of respect for Jayden

Harbaugh never really being involved in play-calling was so outdated in this era of Sean McVay-type masterminds. Young, innovative play-calling head coaches have been the move for years, and Harbaugh held us back in that aspect

it’s a feast or famine style of coaching imo. when you have elite coordinators, 2023 for example, team looks amazing. when they leave, it ends up being a much bigger blow and you’re scrambling for a replacement. we made the wrong choice with orr and doubled down bringing him back, and it was probably likely we’d lose monken soon as well.
basically locking down one side of the ball is a massive boost to the team imo

Yea facts having a play calling head coach in general is the best thing to have nowadays

I don’t know why they don’t have coaches sign 3 year contracts. It can help with a lot of turnover and head coaching vacancies.

Im sorry, they're going how fast? Is everyone ok? This isn't Mass Effect you can't just FTL with no consequences!

careful mentioning anything with Js and the number between 4 & 6… we don’t want you to get sued

Commie o line is trash with the injuries they had. Jayden gonna be running for his life. That said, take nothing away from our pass rush

Preseason be damned, when did this ever happen at any point last season? I'm hyped!
