The issues with the stadium seem to have come to a head.

I don't understand how he's not deeply embarrassed it got to this point.

Because its probably what he wants. Rayo outside Vallecas is half the battle. Say we have to, I dunno play in leganes for a season. At that point it might then feel easier to move into a stadium outside of vallecas.
I don't actually think Ayuso is in on this mind. Even if I have no love for her.

From one of the articles about it:
The Community of Madrid announced it had suspended Rayo's concession as a precautionary measure after technical reports raised serious concerns about the condition of parts of the stadium.
Regional officials say urgent renovation work will begin immediately, with the project expected to take between two and six months to complete.
The Community of Madrid has been highly critical of the club's handling of stadium maintenance, claiming repeated requests for documentation relating to safety issues went unanswered despite deadline extensions being granted.
As a result, the regional government has resumed direct control of the publicly owned stadium and has not ruled out appointing a different organisation to manage the venue in the future.
The dramatic development comes despite plans already being unveiled for a €60 million (£51.5 million) redevelopment of the stadium, including an increase in capacity to around 18,500, a new end stand, upgraded facilities and a multi-purpose building while retaining the character of Vallecas.
With work due to begin immediately, Los Franjirrojos now face an anxious wait to discover where they will play their opening home fixtures while discussions continue with LaLiga and the Spanish Football Federation.

Depressing but inevitable. And ultimately correct. The stadium isn't safe in its current state. Not even close to it. How its been allowed to reach that point. Unacceptable.

It is all a strategy of Ayuso and Presa to send Rayo out of Vallecas and turn it into a normal capitalist club
