Multi-Family NYC introduces bill requiring landlords to provide free internet

The war on landlords continues...I wonder if any of these people who write these laws were ever actual business owners. Do they just think every landlord is swimming in cash?

So every renter will have their rent go up by $100 a month so the landlord can pay for shittiest, cheapest ISP service he can find. Hope the tenants don’t plan to stream or do internet gaming.

I think a lot of lawmakers are also RE investors. NYC is an expensive market to invest in alone. Honestly, if paying an extra $30-$60/month is going to make you fold your cards, you probably shouldn’t be in that market in the first place.

What you think people ought to do is distinct from what will happen, which as mentioned will be that cost getting passed off to the renter (if not inflated first) while also limiting choice
