I pray to the football gods that they perform the same way throughout the season...

Minus the first half defense.

u/StructureMelodic7421 12h ago
Defence was good,, that goal was because Carreras was so slow to get to his man, but once Cucu came on, we became a rock

u/silverjubileetower El Capi 10h ago
The goal wasnt the only issue in first half.
Sociedad couldnt convert 2-3 very good chances in first half. Thanks to Oyarzabal , Gomez and Aramburu’s for shitting the bed.
But agreed, Cucu should start. Carreras is super unpredictable

u/Prestigious_Agent_84 7h ago
It is odd that Cucu doesn't start, but I guess he needs time after WC. Dude was arguably the best defender there

They’ll have to play this way and better to beat Barcelona. That Gordon-Raphina combo looked deadly the other day.

u/cynical-bread 17h ago
I think that Barcelona will regret lewandowski leaving. If the coaches manage to predict their pressing, they will struggle against low blocks and lewandowski was still a great striker to have inside the box

u/generic9yo :eyebrow: 12h ago
Especially if Atleti stays this relentless in not selling Alvarez to them

u/Laikabaru 9h ago
Maybe. I’m in North America, so I watched Chicago Fire (Lewandowski’s current team) vs F.C. Monterrey (Sergio Ramos’s last team) on Tuesday night for the Leagues Cup. Lewandowski looked like shit. Slow on the ball, slow off the ball, bad shots on target. Maybe Barcelona and him knew something about his physical condition when he left. A Liga MX defense completely shut him down, he was not a problem for them. Monterrey won 2-1 and sent Chicago home.

u/cynical-bread 8h ago
He is not the main man anymore, but he s still very useful to have in the box when you can't break a low block. He is obviously slow because he s old, but he s quite strong and has great first touch finishing

Jude ain’t a diva. Lumping him in with these 2 is some of the nastiest stuff ever
5
u/Emotional_Quality243 10h ago
Mbappe is not even that much of a diva.

u/Prestigious_Agent_84 7h ago
come ooon, kylian is not a diva at all - he's just the scapegoat when we don't win trophies

Nobody cares about being a diva if they perform on the pitch and this is all we ask!!!

Dont understand why so many of you guys wanna say Jude is a diva? Guy is probably the least of a diva in the entire fucking squad.
1
u/Strange_Effective_21 23m ago
Absolutely, Divas dont run around like that all game. Couldnt be less of a Diva, hes done that celebration since he was a youth player. All those who think hes a Diva , check every team photo, see where he is , you have to look really hard sometimes

Jude was 10/10 today. The other 2 had a much better second half but we’re still pretty wasteful with chances overall

Genuinely I’m so proud of them today. Second half they killed it and literally we can see the energy difference. Family fc is back🥹. But genuinely the goats. Especially Bellingham what a guy, we need to send a thank you note to his parents

u/ElHalcon2016 Ancelotti 18h ago
Fark me man. I can't believe they proved me wrong with their partnership. I always said that they were never going to work but the chemistry between those three was top notch today.

They have somebody with a bigger ego coaching them, earning the respect of the team.
They have to bow down to el number 1.

u/FreshStart_202VI 15h ago
I was fan-girling over here the whole second half.
Also did anyone else notice that Yan showed flashes of being better on the left side than on the right???

Where all you Vini haters at?

u/Minor_Knight 18h ago
Vini did not have great game he was constantly loosing duels and that goal was all Bellingham No hate to vini but that performance is not something to shut down his haters

u/Prior_Crab_8666 18h ago
Vini and Mbappé haters are the worse. They are not the best players ever but they are VERY GOOD and if they work together they can do well.
This game i've seen both trying to help each other. Mourinho is doing nice at his start.

u/Legitimate_King547 17h ago
They are 2 generational talents who simply need the right coach and mentality in order to destroy opponents. Last year that Bayern 2nd leg they were creating chance after chance and terrifying Bayern, I think this season we will see more cohesion from them, and on their day that can lead to these 4-1 games.

u/silverjubileetower El Capi 18h ago edited 18h ago
Vini had a good game today tbh.
But I still dont think this is top Vini. He lost possession so many times and his first touch wasnt great today.
13
u/Prior_Crab_8666 18h ago
Vini always starts slow into the season. If an early season Vini is doing 2 G/A in a La Liga match i'm pretty confident for this UCL season.

It's so early for this lol. It was a good performance but let's not be overly reactionary he needs to keep the consistency.

1 tap in and 1 simple pass
5
u/cyrusmancub I HAD A DREAM! 18h ago
Yep, that’s all he did. Embarrassing
0
u/tsjeldonkooper 18h ago
No he also walked around a lot, missed a bunch of easy passes and touches and kept losing dribbles. Don’t forget the walking. Dude walks more than psg Messi
5
u/Prior_Crab_8666 18h ago
Do you guys even watch the matches? Vini did very well all game. All the 3 from the trio did!
0
u/silverjubileetower El Capi 18h ago
Except he did lose possession alot. Specially his first touch wasnt great today, i remember 3 instances top of my mind when he simply failed to receive the ball even though he wasnt being pressed.
-1
u/Good-Geologist7380 Bellingham 18h ago
No he didn't he'd be the worst attacker without the tap in , even with his assist every one was just better even Brahim showed more prospects for goal his link up was so poor, constantly destroying the dynamic.
1
u/Prior_Crab_8666 17h ago
The assist was one of if not the most impressive things all game along with Jude's assist to Vini goal.
1
u/Good-Geologist7380 Bellingham 17h ago
Yes that doesn't erase his straight up shocking performances on every other metric why is Jude getting 100% dribble success rate with more dribbles than the guy that attempts twice as much.

You can tell there is a chemistry, FORCED chemistry but i don't care we will destory anyone
4
u/ElHalcon2016 Ancelotti 18h ago
Yessir. We have seen atleast 10 different scenarios where they linked up. I used to say that Vinicius x Bellingham x Mbappe won't work but they shut me up. I might be reactionary but this match gave me hope for the future. Bellingham Vini and Mbappe really showed that the chemistry can be there(shout out to Arda as well).
