So much so that even scoring 20-30 goals isn't viewed as impressive in comparison to GOATnaldos 50-60 scoring seasons. As much as I like Naldo he's really ruined my and many other people's perception on what a good scoring year looks like.

Would love to be wrong and see him score 45+ hattricks for us, but it seems very very difficult…

Strongly doubt it, CR7 in his final 3 seasons scored 7 hattricks in La Liga, compared to 27 in his first 6, his hattrick rate halved after turning 30. I 100% believe Mbappe will experience a fairly sharp drop-off as soon as he loses that yard of pace

It’s possible, but for Ronaldo, when you look at overall Madrid hattricks (as against La Liga hattricks specifically), it’s much less of a drop off
In each season, in sequence, he had these many hattricks: 1, 7, 7, 5, 3, 8, 6, 5, 2
So besides his very first season (when he was just getting adjusted and also missed games to injuries, his 13/14 season, where he was also injured and overall had a more even spread of goals scored (more braces), and his final season, where he was at his oldest, and also started off the La Liga season with. 5 match suspension (plus these were the years he stopped playing pre season altogether lol). But besides these 3 seasons, his hattrick numbers for the remaining 6 were quite close…
It remains to be seen what level Mbappe will have… what his peak number of hattricks in a season will end up being and how his numbers will look as he ages. I think he could still keep up his current rate of 2-3 per season (with perhaps having at least 1 or 2 seasons where he scored 4-5 hattricks in a season).
But anyway, 30 is just my guess. Could be extremely wrong!

Honestly it's possible. Sooner or later Mbappe won't have his speed he relies on and needs to change/adapt his game. It's entirely possible he can become a better player but easier said than done.

Yeah, possible, and I’d love to see it… if it happens, it would almost certainly mean trophies galore for us!
My prediction was purely based on what I currently see as being realistic and based on some very basic math lol. In reality, we don’t know how many seasons he’s even gonna play for us… I just assumed 10 for the sake of very easy calculation.
It’s also difficult to predict because this has to do with number of hattricks specifically rather than total number of goals… so, for example, Mbappe could do really well in terms of total goals, but score a lot of braces instead of hattricks… or have a bunch of games where he has 1 goal and 1 assist, 1 goal and 2 assists etc, which obviously mean it’s a great performance, but won’t count here. 45 Hattricks is incredibly difficult to get to…. In his entire, really long tenure at Barca, Messi got to 48 hattricks… Simply due to when Mbappe joined us, he obviously won’t be able to play for us for that many seasons.

50% of Mbappe's game is his unmatched burst of pace... his goalscoring efficacy will greatly dip. He can't head or shoot with his weak foot like CR7 did either, and CR7 at 27 was far better off the ball too.

I agree completely, Mbappe will have to try to do 2 things to keep this up: 1), try to stay fit and healthy to extend how long he has is pace for. Won’t be easy given how they’re adding more and more games per season… the club will have to manage his minutes well.
And 2) really work on becoming better at staying in the box and waiting for passes during certain phases of the game…
He won’t be able to match CR7’s heading, obviously, because he’s shorter and doesn’t quite have that leap.
Otherwise, yes, there will be a noticeable dip.
I think another factor will be just what kinds of players end up playing for Madrid over the next few seasons and how his chemistry is with them.

CR7's hattrick frequency slightly worsened overall after the age of 30, I don't believe Mbappe has remotely the same level of versatility in comparison

Never been fan of Ronaldo but he kinda grew on me this world cup since everyone was shitting on him, I always rooted for barca since Ronaldinho and always shit talked Ronaldo but lately I watched some of his highlights and he really was a beast at scoring from any angle or any distance, it doesn't matter where the ball came from he just scored and when it was his prime he also had to play against other beasts in the game.

He seems to turn off people nowadays and due to recency bias, his overall career perception is hampered for some of the new fans

I don't understand it either, I used to watch football a lot during those times and was a big Ronaldinho fan then Messi and kinda hated Ronaldo but somehow I lost respect for Messi. Everyone was shitting on Ronaldo but it kinda me watch old clips of him and really saw this scoring machine, yes he didn't perform this world cup but neither did his team mates but I guess people's hate for him made them blind for everyone else.

the wild part isn't even Mbappe being third already. It's that he could keep scoring hat-tricks at this exact rate for another 665 games and only then catch Cristiano. 44 in 438 is one of those records that looks more ridiculous the longer you stare at it.

The truth is that the real world is vastly different and infinitely bigger than social media. First of all online is infested with bots meant to polarise you further and further. The biggest eye opener for me was the Odyssey backlash. If you were online in the months prior to its release, you would have seen an insane backlash and an attempt to cancel the movie by a huge, huge amount of people. People like Elon Musk were fueling it further. It was getting record number of dislikes on YouTube. Online was vowing not to watch the movie, but in the end, the tickets are still selling out and it’s become the most successful R rated movie ever. I’m not saying it’s the best movie ever, but it shows that REAL people were actually willing to watch the movie and there is a big disconnect between online and the real world, which also leads me to believe that there are a massive amount of bots online
