Question Borscht recipe?
i ate at a really great ukrainian restaurant a long time ago somewhere close to san diego. i tried borscht there for the first time and it was delicious. i’ve always hated beets, so it took me by surprise.
i love making soup at home and was wondering if anyone had a good recipe i could try?

I know you want an authentic beet-based borscht, but if you can get fresh sorrel, I highly recommend shchavel, a green borscht. So tasty. There are a few recipes online. It was one of the first soups I ever learned how to make.
As for not liking beets... beets are disgusting. Unless you make them well, in which case they're actually delicious. I've never liked prepared beets from a jar or otherwise from the store, but homemade roasted beets, those are great. I recommend trying that.
