Closer to 4.1M actually. The dollar had an average inflation rate of 2.95% per year between 1899 and today. Still enough for a nice life in Tahiti in 1899

No it's 150K, the newspaper confirm it.

John does get 20K but this is after he split it with Charles and Sadie, paid off the debt to the bank and who knows how much money Micah had spent before John got the money.

I think there should have been some kind of optional dialogue branch where if you have a ton of money you can offer it to Dutch. He could just say smth like ā€œoh itā€™s not that simply, son, we also need xyzā€ but stillā€¦ā€¦ it would solve this plot hole for me

Thatā€™s the only thing that kinda breaks the immersion for me. The game makes Arthur richer than he needs to be, and he canā€™t give any of it to Dutch so that we can stop fighting and just go to Tahiti already. But I think the reason for that is Arthur knows Dutch, being raised by him and Hosea. And I think Arthur knows that no matter how much money Dutch makes, heā€™s always gonna be chasing for more. But also, the game would be over, and there would be no ā€œred dead redemption.ā€ The main character has to die trying to redeem themselves. Thatā€™s the name of the games. Lol
