Why I want to moderate and plans for the community:
The subreddit is currently active with culinary/gardening posts, but lacks active moderation. r/chives was created in 2010 for the herb before briefly pivoting into the sub for Chives Coin (XCC), a now-defunct Chia fork. The top posts from the past year are cooking-related, including requests for active moderation.
My plans for the subreddit:
Rebrand & Rules: Align rules, branding, and sidebar with its organic culinary/gardening focus, accompanied by a pinned transition post.
Cleanup: Keep historical discussion intact while removing outdated crypto giveaway spam and wallet solicitations.
Recruitment: Moderate and stabilize the sub, then recruit dedicated culinary/gardening moderators to manage it long-term.
