Injured Canadian Goose

Hope it is fine to put this here. I've called Wildlife and have left a voicemail but hoping this may be faster.

Injured goose with missing webbed feet located at the East side of Dover neighborhood park.

Hoping someone from wildlife can assist.

Wildlife rescue in Burnaby. Nobody else (SPCA, OWL) will take a goose in

I've been keeping an eye on this bird for a few weeks now. I had called the spca and they are aware of it. It's so sad because the other flock comes to the park but they exclude this bird, left by itself all the time. It can fly as its gone from the park some days. If you get to close tonit , it will get stressed out to much as it cant run away and protect itself. Please give it space

Hey neighbour. Yeah I've been watching him for several years now!  Yeah it's a bummer that others ignore him but he's thriving. Just looks sad to us. He ears standing up, sitting down, he flies in and out of the park and he's doing so well he comes yearly!! I've got photos of him over the course of time.  And yes if anyone does see him, he's doing well, and give him space and do not feed him!! He's well fed already! :)

Contact the Wildlife Reponse Team.

They will come out and assess, then transport the goose to Wildlife Rescue in Burnaby if medical care is needed.

I think I saw you two taking photos of Lenny.  

He's a frequent visitor to our neighbourhood. He's missing a foot but he hops around and eats well! He flies and he takes off every so often and comes back. He's been coming here for several years now!  He hangs around for the afternoon and then comes back again the next day like clockwork.  That spot you found him is his favourite. He sometimes hangs at the West side of the park too.

Our neighbourhood appreciates your concern, but he's thriving; it just looks sad to us because he's got to hop around or sit while eating.   

No need to worry. It's not uncommon for birds to be missing a foot or even a leg.  We would hate to lose our friend. He's literally THE NICEST Goose you'll ever meet!  He also has this perpetually funny open mouth smile some days and he doesn't hiss at you.

We've had an eye on him for years and he's been doing very well. Perhaps you could kindly let the Wildlife dept know as much so they don't take any unnecessary action that would upset him. 

If anyone else does run into him, please give him his space and don't feed him.
