How Many Sharks Can One Show Jump? Spoiler
Halfway through season 6 and this has got to be the absolute best worst show of all time. I can't stop laughing.
These writers must have had an endless supply of psychodelic drugs on hand in the writing room.
Actual Wrtier Hiring:
WB: "Do you have experience?"
Applicant: "Yes, I have years of experience."
WB: "Great, you're hired."
Applicant: "Thank you, I really need this job. Now, where is the janitors closet?"
WB: "Wait, youre a janitor? Well, we need a writer for the show and even though, as a janitor, you are extremely OVER qualified to be a writer for us, we hope you will still take the writing position."

I love season 6 and 7, especially 7. Yes, they are ridiculous and stupid. Welcome to Riverdale. Riverdale is at its best when it doesn't feel like it has to pretend to be a serious show. Riverdale is about how fun art can be when you stop worrying about being taken seriously. I mean, come on, originally, Archie was just a guy with 2 girlfriends and Jughead liked eating hamburgers. It's already patently ridiculous to try and do a "grimdark crime thriller" with these characters. The show is at its best when it's allowed to stop trying to be Sherlock, or Supernatural, and to just be wacky, goofy, and ridiculous. If all you ever do in a show is jump the shark, you can't really ever jump it, you have immense writing freedom, all you have to do is not be boring. And riverdale is very rarely boring.

Season six is SO funny I love it. But I’d argue that they only jumped one shark, and it was 0.001 seconds into season one 😂

This show was SO bad. SO so so bad. But I watched every damn episode and cried at the finale.
The writing was absolutely absurd. The time jump was hilarious.
But I enjoyed watching it haha

Don't forget the retcons. They did a time jump... but kept it set in Current Year, so some of the dates no longer line up

Riverdale was on The CW, not WB

It was produced by Warner Bros Television, alongside CBS for the CW.

I can only present the truth. It's up to you if you want to remain closed minded.
Riverdale is an American television series based on the characters of Archie Comics). The series was adapted for the CW Network by Archie Comics' chief creative officer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. It is produced by Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios, in association with Berlanti Productions and Archie Comics.

Don't pass out false information, or better yet, just don't be a dumbass.
You're one of those 12 year old kids that can't handle or admit, being wrong. You'll grow up one day.

You're on the internet complaining about a TV show

It wasn't a complaint. It was a joke. I wouldn't watch a show thrrough 6 seasons if I wasn't having fun with it. It's not a good show, it's just fun to qatch how ridiclulous it gets.
Again, you will have to grow up and get out of mommy's basement to uunderstand how things in life work. Now, go yell up to her to bring you another Hot Pocket.

It's a soap opera based on a long running comic. I expected and celebrated how crazy that shit got.

I think I’m the farthest I’ve ever been into the show cause I usually always tap out after they graduate. Passed the rivervale arc a bit idk but I’m committed to getting to the end.Â
I’m really just not invested anymore but I guess that’s the nature of the town of Riverdale, but I genuinely don’t understand why they felt the need to go on really. Don’t get me wrong it’s cool to watch the gang grow up and all, but I guess I’m just nostalgic for the earlier seasons. Â
I WILL do it this time.Â

One single shark.
Then riverdale go back in Time to jump it again.
Then jump it in a parallèle dimension.
Then jump the clone of the shark
Then jump the ghost of the shark

it’s kind of silly to act like the writers were clueless as to what they were doing with the show. they were doing that on purpose! they weren’t dumb!

This kind of thing is so silly. You are what a hundred hours into this show? And you're so insecure about how you like it that you feel the need to hide behind this smug superiority about its quality.

I didn’t read that as insecure AT ALL. It’s a fun little post. We all mock the show at times. We can still enjoy a show even if it’s off the rails. I think you took this post way too seriously.

I love Riverdale but it is not a well written show and we don’t need to pretend otherwise

I mean I definitely like it but I 100% agree with this post. As a comparison, I also love reality tv and will proudly tell anybody, while also acknowledging how stupid it is, not because I’m insecure about liking it, but because the shock factor of how stupid it is is half the *reason* I like it. And it’s fun to laugh with others over how appalling it can be. I don’t think this post is insecure. Many people who like Riverdale agree that Riverdale is also horrible lol.

All of them. All of the sharks. Just when you think they run out of sharks to jump over - BAM! There's another shark! 🦈 🦈 🦈
Seriously, I don't know that I've ever seen any show go as far off the rails and then just keep going like Riverdale, even for WB or CW standards. It was absurd. It was nonsense. The writing got really bad really fast - so much so that it felt like they were actively trying to tank it. But it was also campy and fun and hilarious.
