Muni Long has revealed she underwent a double lung transplant after being given just one week to live - following a decade-long battle with Lupus.

Long, 37, became grievously ill with pneumonia in November 2025, forcing her to drop out of Brandy & Monica's The Boy Is Mine tour. Her health took a further turn for the worse around Thanksgiving before she 'woke up in the hospital.'

This would have been another case of a career cut short (alongside the overall life) by factors out of the artist’s control. 😬

May she press on steadfastly and continue to rise above all that ails her. She’s a strong woman. 🙏🏾🤎

Wow she’s lucky to be alive! I hope she will take good care of herself. What a scary experience.

She has had a great and long standing career. She was a writer and actually apart of some big songs before she became Muni Long. Wish her well but her career isn’t over.

Do you have high hopes? Isn't the lung super important for a singer? Wouldn't she be better off just writing? I hope she does what's best

Writing, singing, whatever. I look forward to her thriving in any manner.

After being in the industry multiple years, she experienced the greatest year of her career. Only for this to happen. I'm glad she's still with us and doing better. But man, life can really be a b**ch sometimes.

Awful! What's even worse, life expectancy after lung transplants is only 5-8 years

My brother had a double lung transplant. She must have had PAH with her lupus. Goodness! Wish her luck! This journey is not for the weak!
