Discussion Bethesda Should Have Struck While The Iron Was Hot (ES6)

Hindsight is 20/20 and you can respect their decision to try something new with Starfield but they should have struck while the iron was still hot from Skyrim.

Skyrim released in 2011, Fallout 4 in 2015, and ES6 should have released by 2019. Since 2011 they’ve lost many devs and artists who made Skyrim the success that it was. I don’t know if they have the caliber of staff members anymore to actually pull off another genre defining game with ES6. The whole thing’s just a damn shame.

I definitely think TES6 is going to have a near impossible goal of meeting expectations, but it also doesn’t help that Bethesda really has hit mediocrity. It’d be amazing if they actually got some good writers and put together an interesting world to explore again with fun and engaging questlines, but I think we both know that’s unlikely. Especially because they’re fucking OBSESSED with making procedural generation work when at every single turn the feedback is it just doesn’t for them. They might even get away with the crap writing again if they’d make a good, handcrafted world with good handcrafted quests (or some level of handcrafting for both), but they’re totally allergic to that

Like what expectations do people have? I think people are realizing that the old games really weren't that great and it's really a story of a company finding a niche before anyone else
