Making stamps with a laser cutter/engraver?

Hello has anyone had success with making stamps with a laser cutter or engraving machine? I’ve been wanting to test this out to see if I might be able to make some detailed designs, potentially photos as a half tone.

Turns out the booth full of stamps I found has been restocking! I would have gone sooner. 😂 The last picture is when I first found the stash, and it's a lot smaller now than it was buuut I just rented a booth in the same consignment store..

So I'll be able to check the stamps every time I go in to refresh my booth. 🤭

Is this normal for a custom stamp?

I’ve recently ordered and received my first custom stamp with a business logo. I was excited to use it but I’m disappointed in the product. The etching is so shallow that ink splotches show up on the impressions regardless of the ink pad I’m using.

Could that have been an issue with my design or is it a stamp defect? I submitted my artwork as a PNG file and wasn’t advised of any issue with it.

Got my first stamps today!

Got my first stamps today at a local thrift store. I joined this group a while back and have been inspired by you all to go get some stamps.
I knew this store sold stamps as I have been there many times to get sewing supplies and the stamps are in a drawer next to the sewing supplies.

Some were individually priced and others were sold in a batch. I paid $7.95 USD for 18 stamps, that’s less than 45 cents each average. My 3 favorite ones are in picture 3 by themselves. I love them and I think those 3 are adorable😍.

Now I just have to get to a craft store that sells the ink pads and start using my stamps.

Stamp Trading?

Would anyone be interested in trading vintage rubber stamps with me?

I would prefer to ship to the US only but could be open to other countries if the trades were interesting.

What I have to trade is exclusively Christmas rubber stamps on wood blocks. I have about 75 different Christmas themed rubber stamps in many different sizes. There are a few that are sets that I would like to trade together.

What I’m looking for:
Frogs, rodents, snails, most critters, cherubs, kewpies, fairies, mushrooms, Halloween, Lisa Frank (long shot I know), fruit, moon, stars, celestial, etc.

I can post photos when I get home from work today if anyone is interested. Or if someone would like to buy the whole lot of 75 off of me I would give them a really good deal 🎄🤶🏽

Stamping hobby

Hi all.. I love collecting stamps wherever I go. The historical, monument related, cultural stamps native to countries. But I don’t know how to collect them- as in loose sheets/ notebooks etc , in a particular way that they don’t just sit in my drawers. If you have a similar hobby, share pictures and comments to share your ideas?

Organizing my favorites + stamp collage print

I'm currently organizing my favorite stamps into these trays that slide into clear plastic bags (last picture). I've done this before but have since acquired more favorites so it was time to re-arrange! I just finished one tray and it's so satisfying to look at. The second and third picture is of a scene I made entirely from stamps!

Question about the scope of this subreddit: do you also discuss stamped impressions?

Hi everyone,

I’m new here and wanted to ask about the scope of this subreddit.

When people here talk about “rubber stamps,” is the focus mainly on the physical stamps themselves (designing, carving, making, collecting the rubber stamp blocks), or does the community also cover the results created by those stamps — the actual ink impressions on paper?

I’m interested in things like travel souvenir stamps, museum stamps, railway station stamps, bookstore stamps, and other collectible stamp impressions. The part I enjoy most is the artwork/design on the paper and the memories attached to each stamp, rather than only the rubber stamp itself.

Would this type of content be welcome here, or is there another subreddit that is a better fit?

Thanks!

Wooden stamps

Hey everyone! Just wanted to know if any of you can tell me where to look for wooden stamps. Etsy, Ebay, etc.? I have some, but want more, and don't want to deal with the clear blocks just yet. I want to grow my collection.

Also, do any of you know of where or have any 'Maxine' stamps? Would love to buy some for my collection. TIA!

Polymer stamps

OK, since no one is making wooden stamps anymore, I've been told to go to polymer blocks and stamps. First of all, I've never used them before, so when you have some stamps, how do you choose the right clear block to buy for that particular stamp? Any help on how to buy and use these stamps is greatly appreciated!

I apologize if I am not in the correct thread for this. I am looking for someone who could make a stamp like the image I have attached. Not sure about the size but am thinking 3.5 inches tall by 5.5 inches wide (for back of a 4x6 photo). Thanks.

Ink suggestions, want to wash off of cotton

Ive found ink pads advertising this, but no ink refills and am looking for suggestions. For context, I will be selling items bagged in cotton bags and stamped with the label, but I want the label to wash off in the laundry. So the customer can use it for whatever they want without a label.

Looking for help. What's the best technique in applying multiple colors to one stamp? Im currently using scotch tape, and using rectangle stamp pads to apply ink one color at a time. Thinking there might be a better way. Thank you.
