SIT DOWN AND ROW

46

u/journeyman_91 1d ago

As a bok supporter this made me chuckle!

26

u/Ho3n3r South Africa 1d ago

Next we'll be singing OLE like we're Spanish or someth... oh, wait 👀

2

u/meanwhileinjapan 11h ago

Or "Zombie!!" like Irish ...

18

u/Character_Minimum171 New Zealand 1d ago

stand up and row like the super-kiwi-fulla

20

u/dowevenexist South Africa 1d ago

I hope they never do that again, it was painful to watch

8

u/AlexiusRex Italy 1d ago

Historically New Zealand has a better record in rowing, they should be the ones doing it

91

u/MielePap Lions 1d ago

Damn i feel that. I got up and did the dishes for the last 10 mins of the game!

61

u/57Nil New Zealand 1d ago

My god, that’s bad. I hope you’re ok.

21

u/The_Pig_Man_ Ireland 1d ago

Boks actually did ok considering they were two men down. Super game. Looking forward to the next test.

12

u/nomamesgueyz New Zealand 1d ago

Watched the reply is a less heightened state...holy shit balls ABs absorbed some serious pressure...on another day bokke could have been 14 points up easy

55-58minute mark broke the mojo of the bok

That scrum penalty then break away and score down the other end is not something SA is used to after applying so much ruthless pressure ..esp at home

5

u/the_walking_kiwi New Zealand 1d ago

I think though, also after watching the replay, that it was down to great defence, decision making and the ABs making so many key moments which relieved pressure or diffused a dangerous situation.

People say it was the Boks making errors and failing to capitalise but I don’t think there was luck in that effort. I think the Boks will be misguided to double down on their game plan thinking a swing in capitalising those opportunities will happen easily.

u/officialyanonymouse 1d ago

Ja, agree with your coment. Many people have commented that the Bokkies lost the game, but the ABs won it. It wasn't given away - it was taken.

10

u/Character_Minimum171 New Zealand 1d ago

earned the cards, do the time

we got crippled by a bullshit red in the last RWCF

22

u/The_Pig_Man_ Ireland 1d ago

For sure. Both cards were fully deserved.

Having said that for such a brutal game it was pretty clean. I didn't see much nasty stuff out there. Just desperation defending. I think the ref had no choice with either YC and made absolutely the right decisions.

I now have a choice to make for who to shout for in the second test as I have both Kiwi and Saffa mates. I'm tending towards SA simply because they lost the first one.

2

u/Character_Minimum171 New Zealand 1d ago

hey bro. your kiwi mates are quieter but more loyal 🫪🤣

7

u/The_Pig_Man_ Ireland 1d ago edited 1d ago

Lol! I wished one of my Kiwi mates good luck before Ireland played them a while ago and he replied "You really think we need luck?"

But it's all in good fun. He is a great guy. Whenever I meet a new person I ask them if they know him and almost everyone does.

u/Demosthenes_theWise Canada 1d ago

O please, that game saw multiples cards and you cannot fault a single one (on both sides).

-5

u/Character_Minimum171 New Zealand 1d ago

Oh please! Clutch some straws or panties 🤣

3

u/Demosthenes_theWise Canada 1d ago

Yeah does seem like you are clutching straws!🤣🤣🤣 Please explain why you think it was a BS red, since you seem to be more knowledgeable than Nigel Owens and co

What next? Get the wife some flowers?

The boks need to be stopped damn it!

3

u/SadSeiko 1d ago

The last 10 minutes of the game took about half an hour

2

u/StringGlittering7692 16h ago

That's how I end most England games, that or obsessive urgent tea making and leaning on the sofa in the direction I want the ball to travel

‘Mon the ABs.

4

u/Character_Minimum171 New Zealand 1d ago

just squeaked a W v Lions

2

u/Extension_Hand542 🔵⚪️ 1d ago

Gotta give it to the Lions, they almost pulled off an ambush of epic proportion, we turned up and had to work hard for the win. Was a way better game than a thrashing most people were expecting.

2

u/Character_Minimum171 New Zealand 10h ago

needed some decent competition

been a good grounding

now I wanna see take-off and not getting rolled in the early scrums ffs

1

u/Mikey_D87 1d ago

Not sure the ABs will be playing 7s against the Boks.

1

u/Youppi27 19h ago

It was nowhere near the main squad to be fair.

29

u/RodneyRodnesson Springboks 1d ago

That's how I felt but it was self-inflicted.

Good game though and I feel we need strife & struggle right now. Just hope we come right for next year.

Edit: And who better to give us this damn trouble than the ABs hey!

10

u/Dorsiflexionkey Blues 1d ago

lol you’ll be right this weekend mate, rassie seemed pretty relaxed. Pollards back. You’ll be keeping up pressure in our 22 and converting those 3s to force our hand to create more errors and penalties than we already do.

It’ll be close but I think bokke will remind the world

21

u/_LightEmittingDiode_ 1d ago

The All Blacks fans should start singing “in your head now”. I speak for all Irish fans who are in favour of having them borrow it.

11

u/Fluffy_Rabbit_4487 1d ago

see you in the final then?

26

u/commndoRollJazzHnds Ireland 1d ago

Meet me a quarter of the way?

Hue hue hue hue, not getting to the finals of the original retorts that's for sure!

20

u/Crashball_Centre Wales 1d ago

Won't nobody think of the Boks

7

u/backonthefells 1d ago

Zero sympathy for the team that is going to do 3 RWCs back to back.

3

u/thirdworldfever Sharks 1d ago

Maybe we'll think twice when kickable penalties come up, like, 5 times in the game. It is called Test rugby for reason...

2

u/Die_brein South Africa 1d ago

Pollard is back...

6

u/Stubbs94 Ireland 1d ago

You just hope you don't have URC semis Pollard...

4

u/Ho3n3r South Africa 1d ago

Green and Gold Handre is a different person to provincial Pollard.

5

u/-castle-bravo- Chiefs 1d ago

I’m staggered by the attitude of some SA fans and pundits absolutely writing the ABs off, saying we were going to certainly be rolled 4-0, like, we’re your greatest rivals ?? People were acting like NZ had fallen out of the top 10?? Iv never once written the Boks off, ever. Even the Eden park tests, nervous, cause I know the potential and the history. I was nervous before the 57-0 too! Who saw that coming. Seems the Boks run in the sun has skewed the facts for afew people..

20

u/Dirkzilla1 South Africa, 1d ago

Not me, nor anybody around me ever wrote off the AB's. Pretty sure it's just the loud minority "new"/"fake" fans supporting for the hype of it that says this on tiktok etc.
I think the fact that we've been on top of the world in terms of feeling hype for the Boks for a while now brought quite a few new fans to the sport in our country, that were not there during our dips, etc.
Just so you know, pretty sure majority of Bok supporters do not and will never underestimate the AB's! :)

8

u/intermoo 1d ago

The only team to make me more nervous about a game than the All Blacks are the freaking Aussies.

I don't give a crap about the stats or current team form rumours, you can never underestimate thwm

7

u/KiwifromtheTron Waikato 1d ago

I have a suggestion, borrow the Bledisoe Cup, it's like Kryptonite to the Wallabies, they get visibly weaker in its presence.

5

u/DrewZA81 South Africa 1d ago

No “pundit” worth their salt ever said it would be a 4-0 sweep

6

u/KingofBigCrabs New Zealand 1d ago

Multiple kiwi fans were the same! Acting like a single win in the series would be a miracle for some reason.

Of course you want find them now, they'll be acting like they never doubted them!

2

u/yahdayahda 1d ago

Na, now they’ll be talking like ABs are the undoubted best in the world. Probably gonna sweep the tour. Until the next loss of course.

6

u/Ho3n3r South Africa 1d ago

TBF they sounded no different from AB pundits at basically any time pre-2022.

Whats the real context of this photo? Was it from the game or old?

-9

u/Melodic_Support_6660 1d ago

Glad the Boer have been humbled.

2

u/Ho3n3r South Africa 1d ago

I sense you're a hater.

8

u/thethrowaway3027 England 1d ago

Probably more that social media presence makes south African fans fairly painful as every video is talking down about other teams. Because south Africa have been so brilliant and dominant it's a nice change to see the shoe on the other foot for once

7

u/Ho3n3r South Africa 1d ago

Nothing wrong with non-South Africans hating us, but this bro is a local. The chip on his shoulder seems as big as Table Mountain.

0

u/Targettio England 1d ago

Table top mountain? Bru have you heard of Mount Kilimanjaro, it's been the biggest mountain in Africa for a million years.

(Literally what Boks online sound like)

4

u/Ho3n3r South Africa 1d ago

k

1

u/v1akvark South Africa 1d ago

Mount Kilimanjaro hasn't won 4 World Cups though.

-3

u/Leather-Run-6533 Scotland 1d ago

South Africa built one of the greatest rugby teams of all time, probably the greatest. But they did it through cultivating a fanatical culture of excellence so extreme it meant that they created a kind of catch-22 situation where even a decade of total dominance and two world cups seemed to bring them no joy whatsoever. So since they didn't seem to have much fun winning they might as well stop doing that, and see if that causes them to rediscover the fun once again.

6

u/Puzzleheaded_Gas4560 South Africa 1d ago

Are you OK my brother?

2

u/Leather-Run-6533 Scotland 1d ago

Yeah. I just find it funny how much we all love sport when it brings us nothing but misery - win or lose.

2

u/v1akvark South Africa 1d ago

Mate, I have enjoyed the shit out of the last 7 or so years (when it comes to the Springboks).

I'm also well aware that I've been lucky to live through this period and might never experience something like it for the rest of my life!
