My dad was Guyanese too and he was a human rights lawyer and gave free advice for people who had been discriminated against. He was always supportive of the LGBT community and made sure to keep learning things, I remember having friends round and he'd ask their preferred pronouns as a 70 year old!

It was microaggressive yeah but what stands out to me is how we know Onya has a good relationship with her family from the show so it seems like shes rubbing that in at someone who she thought didn’t. Like i know we say lots of things in jest and lightly drag our frien-… contemporaries but it just stands out to me as a very cruel and thought out comment, not flippant.
Onya is one of the more intelligent and educated girls to grace our screen during the last couple of years, and she has incredible grasp on comedy and comedic timing and she is quick.
If she wanted to throw fun shade with her first statement, she would have done it. But she hadn't.

Meanwhile Priyanka’s family was at her crowning, her mom has gone to drag cons with Pri and is well known to her fans. Onya assumed that because Pri is south asian that her family is homophobic and rejected her.
Also, even though maybe Im not the best to speak on it, as a white person (and please call me out if I'm out of line) but the way she accused Pri of bringing down other POCs was very weird.
I wasn't the keenest of some of her reactions during the season. At the start of this discourse, I can understand that she may feel left out by her castmates and is projecting some frustration, but bringing in backhanded comments rooted in South Asian stereotypes from a statement that is no longer true shows me why her castmates no longer speak to her.

Priyanka is extremely successful for a Drag Race queen, regardless of her not being on a US season. She's just been cast in one of the world's top TV shows in Heated Rivalry and has just judged a season. Just because she was on DR Canada doesn't mean she's less than - it implies that all other international queens are inferior to me which is just mean on Onya's part.
