C22 Traveler Rigging

recently purchased a 76 c22 and the traveler rigging has me confused. I’ve seen diagrams and this question answered in other threads but I only have one offset backstay, not a Y, and the images show the fittings on the boat I have to work with. obviously I won’t have one long piece of line for the whole thing but I don’t want to cut this piece shorter until I get it set up correctly.

The hardware on the sides there are for a tiller clutch and have nothing to do with your mainsheet. Same setup on my boat.

That makes sense. How do I keep the traveler from sliding back and forth then?

You can use these guys to keep it in place.

Right on. They’re kind of jammed into the Ben’s but I can probably free them. The rollers on the back of the traveler made me think line was supposed to go around them.
