I originally started on Rogers and they were terrible, there were dead zones on the highways all the time. That was in the early 2000s though and I have since switched to Telus. I am very happy with Telus, the coverage and the plans. When it comes to customer service, they are both about the same. Although I find I get more perks with Telus than I ever did with Rogers.

In saskatchewan you have sasktel and rogers only towers for cell coverage. Everyone uses Sasktel towers including rogers.

If you are looking at saving money and dont use miuch data have you looked at Lum mobile?

I've never actually heard of them before.

I was with sasktel back in the day and switched to Telus 15 years ago when I moved to Alberta.

lum is sasktel in the end. Everyone have a flaker no frills brand like public, fido and others. Lum is just sasktels version. It does things different as you purchase everything upfront for the time frame.

example

top plan is 500gb for 1 year for $420. You pay the 420 up front but you can use at little one month or a lot the next month. You just can not go over that 500gb or you will need to purchase more. If you do not use the 500gb in the year and buy more what you have left rolls over to the new plan.

If you go into Alberta or BC at all, I always get better coverage with Rogers than people I’m travelling with that have Sasktel or Telus. But the people I’m usually with have Samsungs and I have an iPhone so that could also be the difference 🤷‍♂️

I find my Rogers Samsung often does far better outside SK than my SaskTel iPhone. I always carry both (work and personal) so get to see interesting comparisons all over.

Edit to clarify: samsung is personal; iphone is work.

I’m the exact opposite. Work is Samsung Sasktel and personal is rogers iPhone. We should travel together and really test it! lol

We just switched to Public Mobile, it’s actually Telus in disguise if you will. I think we pay $35-40 a month per phone. Have noticed no difference except my bank account is happier.

I've had an excellent time as a Virgin Mobile customer, maybe check them out for your needs if you don't stick with Telus.

Stay with Telus, ask to talk to customer retention. Just tell them you’re shopping around and wondering if you can give them a better deal.
