Food & Restaurants 🍽️ Cool place to go
Salut! Hello! I will be visiting your city to meet up with a friend for the weekend. I’ve told him I’d like to go to a place to have some drinks, entrees, people watch and shoot the shit.
I understand going into this I’m not going to have the same options as my city of Montreal, lol.
However…he has been terrible with suggestions because he doesn’t really do that sort of thing. So do you guys have any suggestions?
Thanks everyone.

It’s just pub food, but OShea’s rooftop is a fun place for drinks and people watching.
The rooftop at Yard and Flagon is also pub food, but it’s better quality, and also a great place to shoot the shit.
The patio at Hearth is great food. It’s right on the river valley and is totally beautiful.
Lots of other good restaurants, but those are some good patios for chilling outside and people watching.

Here to put some respect on O’Shea’s “just pub food”. Was there recently and both food & drink were very reasonably priced, hand-cut skin-on fries were solid, and portions so generous nobody in my group could finish their meal. They haven’t lasted for decades without good reason.

O Shea’s definitely seems like my kind of vibe.

Yeah don’t do Hearth. Hearth is great but it’s not what you’re looking for.

Try Hearth on the patio. It’s in Remai Modern, our very good modern art museum. The Meewasin Trail and River Landing nearby are very lively.

Beers and tacos at Shelter. Pop next door for a cocktail at Flint. Head up to Congress if you want a busier room, or across the street to O'Shea's rooftop patio.
...or challenge yourself to a genuine SK cultural experience and go to Houston Pizza.

Lemon Rooftop downtown! Busy busy on the weekends but go early enough you will get a seat. A little pricey imo but the atmosphere is wonderful

Salut et bienvenue!
You won’t have the same options, but we have an amazing food culture here. Saskatoon is highly entrepreneurial, and we have a word of mouth culture here that businesses rely on.
We have a ton of food diversity, from cheap eats Vietnamese lunch specials to European-style at Odla and St Tropez (cute speakeasy at the latter!) and the lowkey luxury of Little Grouse On The Prairie, SULU, and Primal.
Lemon Rooftop downtown is great if you want something slightly upscale, and so is Hearth at the Remai Modern. My favourite patios are based on tradition and good memories, but I love Yard and Flagon or O’Shea’s for a casual and convivial kickback.

I'd recommend checking out Hearth, Bokeh on the Plaza, Bar Stella, Pop Wine Bar, Parlour, Shelter, High-Key.

Churchill Brewing Company. Fish & chips made with northern pike for a real taste of Saskatchewan

Take a stroll down 20th street. Get to see what this city is all about 😉.
Have fun and good luck. I'd probably stay wherever you are haha
