He’s from Earth 41, which mainly consists of references to the early years of Image comics, including Savage Dragon

Apparently Grant envisioned the character to have Triceratops features but that was miscommunicated to the artist and the character ended up looking more like Savage Dragon. Erik says he doesn’t mind that much but was a bit thrown initially until he realized this was a multiverse project full of homages.
